Programs want to install for no reason!

Okay maybe some of you can help me. Everytime i restart my pc and enter the desktop, my pc starts wanting to installing certain programs such as: TrayApp, Fax ( thats all it says ) and everytime i open a avi file it wants to install photogallery.

Now afaik i didnt do ne thing wrong ( altho quite recently i did do a registery clean which im finking is the reason for this ) but just want to know if any of you have experienced these problems or know what these programs are.

Virus and spyware scan came clean, restoring to older date doesnt work and i unfortunately did not get a window oem cd with my laptop so i cant proceed to install it.

How can these apparently automated installs be stopped?

look around for an app that details your startup sequence - and then simply disable the programs in question.. some sort of 'startup manager'.. install, fix your prob, uninstall..
or else look in the preferences for the programs, if they're already installed - and uncheck the 'start when windows starts' options..

run msconfig , disable all items in stratup tab, if there is something you reall need leave that one ticked.

yes msconfig will do the trick or you can go into the tab in msconfig under services and stop that service to,you will save memory and you will have a faster boot,kinda like killing 2 birds with one stone
