PROJECT REALITY 0.8 IS OUT

and to be a typical south african internet user, any chance of a local download??
 
There are a few torrent sites, one was from gamingsa so it is local I fink d/l...
 
Project Reality is quite a fresh change from the usual 4map urbanII server circulation. The realism is sometimes a bit overwhelming - especially without a medic nearby.

All in all, it's a metric bumload of fun and I can see lots of BF2 players keeping up with it for quite some time to come...

I am the administrator of the server, please feel free to ask any questions, requests for game modes ect.

There is a local website up for PR as well, http://www.projectreality.co.za/ were you will find all the tips etc for the game, map stats, player stats per map, etc

Listen, I'm getting sick of this nade spamming crap on SGS. Does Project reality at least curb some of it? If so, is the server rather busy ?
 
LOL. no nade spamming !! Its a reality mod, based on team work, and the modes are really something different to experience.The server has players on every night, and during most of the day.

Ill quote Superant, who summed it up perfectly:

"Its fantastic, and lifts the entire FPS genre to another level. Its somewhere between a military sim (ARMA/flashpoint) and a typical fps arcade game (BF2/COD/AA). Basically, it caters for everyone. And with AA3 as disappointing as it is, PR gets my recommendation."

New to the BF2 gaming is the Insurgence mode. Typically the forces are unbalanced in terms of firepower and the one side is forced into guerrilla tactics in order to win. You run around as a Terrorist, placing IED's, grenade traps, etc, its typical of the war fare in urban surroundings in Iraq at the moment.
