Have you tried the new "improved" pronutro?

If so, fill out the poll.

Personally I am not a fan and want to go back to the before.

Key changes and facts about the new ProNutro:
  • Reduced Sugar: The formula features reduced sugar per serving compared to the previous, according to News24.
  • Texture/Taste: It has a different, "bitty/crunchy" texture, described by some fans as "lumpy" and having a different mouth feel, according to consumer feedback on Reddit.
  • Production Changes: The move was prompted by an effort to improve manufacturing, reduce carbon emissions, packaging, and water usage, noted EWN.
  • Permanent Change: The company has indicated this is not a temporary change and the formula is here to stay, says EWN.
  • Discontinued Product: The Whole Wheat variant was dropped due to low demand.

Def not a fan

Flavour profile is way off
Clumping issue is a major aggravation.

I used to love it as a midnight snack with ice cold milk years ago.

Now its just gout on a spoon.

Some counter-points.

Reduced Sugar: The reduction in sugar doesn't automatically make it healthier — manufacturers often compensate with other additives or fillers to maintain palatability. Consumers who relied on ProNutro as a quick energy source may now find it less effective for their needs, and the sugar reduction may be marginal rather than meaningful.

Texture/Taste Changes: Consumer perception is reality in the FMCG world. A loyal customer base built over decades has a strong expectation of consistency, and alienating them with a texture change risks long-term brand erosion. "Bitty and lumpy" is not a minor complaint — texture is a core part of a breakfast cereal's sensory experience, and no amount of nutritional improvement compensates if people simply stop enjoying eating it.

Production/Environmental Changes: These benefits primarily serve the company's bottom line and ESG reporting, not the consumer. Reduced carbon emissions and water usage are commendable, but they shouldn't come at the cost of product quality. Consumers aren't being rewarded for the manufacturer's efficiency gains — if anything, they're absorbing the downside of them.

Permanent Change: Declaring a change permanent before adequately gauging consumer response is a risky and somewhat arrogant position. Companies have reversed "permanent" decisions before when sales data made the cost of stubbornness clear — the classic example being Coca-Cola's New Coke in 1985. It may also signal that the company is unwilling to engage meaningfully with customer feedback.

Discontinued Whole Wheat Variant: "Low demand" is a self-fulfilling prophecy if a product isn't adequately marketed or stocked on shelves. Discontinuing a whole grain option also moves the brand away from health-conscious consumers at a time when demand for high-fibre, minimally processed foods is actually growing.

Used to eat as a kid but was never the biggest fan so haven't had it in like 20 years. My brother will be disappointed though, whenever he comes back to SA for a visit he always grabs some Pronutro.

I've never had it, I think it was too gritty for me.

I have Future Life daily.

What worries me about anything that contains maize and soya as an ingredient nowadays is that it's mostly genetically modified.

Almost everything you eat is GMO in some shape or form. If we didn't have GMO, we wouldn't be able to feed 8.3 billion people.

Thanks Pepsi, hope they dont f@#k up Weetbix.

AFAIK, Pioneer Foods has some shares in Future Life, main competitor to Pronutro and Weetbix.
