No gibbs _I_ selectors!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a team that is going to get beaten :D, i hope not. We can expect duminy to hit 25 off 40 balls no doubt as this is SA he is playing for now.

not too sure that is quite fair towards Duminy:

368 runs @ 30.33 Strike rate of 125.08 with 2 50's

that seems a bit harsh.... he's been playing very well in 20/20's for us...

I guess watching him when we played pakistan just take single after single and letting the run rate blow out left a bad taste in my mouth :D.

Mmm Bosman vs Anderson? Goodluck Bosman, anything more than single figures will be an achievement!!
Im not impressed by Mclarens position, Parnell is injured? He has to be otherwise I dont Mclaren should be there.

Killa has selective memory....

Well as weird as it may sound I am sure that for some silly reason if a player could hit every ball for a boundry he would do exactly that :p

Maybe but duminy could have at least tried in that game to hit boundaries, between him and kallis arguebly 2 of the finest SA batsmen plodding along with singles until we needed 12 an over. Left a very sour taste in my mouth. Specially when i saw what he did when he was smashing the ball like crazy in the champions league. I do not think i am the only who sees duminy play some amazing innings for everyone but SA. By amazing i do not mean 50 off 38, i mean amazing like he showed in the champions league.

I think maybe he gets worried he will be dropped so when he does not play for us he knows he will not dropped or something.

Like bosman i bet if he goes early they will drop him which means he is tense and worried when he bats which means he will fail.

Maybe you forget that the international bowlers that JP faceses when he plays for SA are a bit of a tougher nut to crack than the bowling attacks of provincial sides?

and also, he has gained a bit of experience since that pakistan game...

i think he can only get better...

@JK8, yes, Parnell is injured, ankle or something.

and as far as i remember for the Pakistan game, Afridi was bowling like he bowls once in 50 games, and batted like he did once in a 100 games... we were just on the wrong side of Afridi.

Unfortunately, a 20/20 game CAN be won by only 1 guy, like he proved...

Not sure why JK8 is negative with the Bosman/Anderson match up, IIRC Bosman loves guys with a bit of pace... and Anderson, one can ALMOST say, is a bit on the medium side [not 150km/h].

but we'll see, Bosman is a very good 20/20 player... 1st oke to ever [?] hit a 20/20 100.

Yip, I think he will go early, and then get dropped... again.
What happened to that Indian guy, forgot his name, went to the 20WC and never played a game, is he also injured?

Erm Afridi rates himself as a bowler that can bat. He is still a wicket taker and one of the best atm, watched any of the Pak vs NZ games recently? He and Ajmal basically stopped that game.

Maybe I am being negative, but I rate Anderson very high, especially on SA pitches... They beat the Proteas in the CT right?

Yusuf Abdulla perhaps.. he was quite good in the IPL.

Not sure, I don't really rate Loots to be honest. He does well domestically but then underperforms for SA.

I'm keen to see how Ryan McLaren performs - I just hope he gets some match practice because he could be a good ODI prospect. It's also great to see Charl back in the team :)

Oh and I hope that everyone attending all the matches live didn't forget what Strauss did in the CT :D

Smooth you cannot say he under performs man, he either must score 50/100 or they drop him.

How can you do well knowing you have one shot. I think it is terrible.

You look at guys who are always in the team, they have no worries because they know they will not be dropped. Okes like bosman come in once in awhile and must either do amazingly well or they get dropped.

Silly way of doing things.

Actually looking at is T20 record I'm inclined to agree. He should be given more chances and his limited record isn't too bad.

I was thinking of ODIs when he was given more than a few chances but failed to deliver.

I just hope they don't choose Botha instead of Roelof.
Oh and I hope that Albie bats at 6 without Boucher coming ahead of him. Also that Albie doesn't bowl much and JP takes over his part time work.
I just really want to see if the coaching staff have eventually learnt their lessons...

It won't make a difference. We'll do well in every bi-lateral series, they'll claim that all the problems have been sorted out, and then we'll crash out of the next major tournament.

Silent they never do, i heard one commentator the other day mention how we do things by the book.

We would never for instance send in a pinch hitter over kallis to keep momentum going, we always just stick to the game plan and never change it up is basically what he was saying.

Yep that's basically it - I read a similar article on Cricinfo after we lost in the CT.

http://www.cricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/427991.html

After Hansie left, they lost the ability to adapt to match situations. They formulate a plan before the match and stick to it no matter what.
