Not in the next year anyway. Too far ahead....

One day rankings don't mean much.
We've been #1 a few times already.
 
nah, not in tests that is, that'll take us a good 2-3years(if we win all test sieries), but ODI we should keep the spot unless we lose to India
 
what's strange is that those that watch rugby and cricket probably rated the all blacks when they were number one spot despite them not having won the world cup since 87.

the rankings take into account the quality of opposition. So it is meant to "penalise" you when you play against the weaker teams.

That being said obviously a WC win would do wonders for SA. But that is still sometime away so we can only make do with what is available at this point. The No 1 ICC ranking.

i agree, WC is still 3 years away and we cant do anything about it now, for now we'll hav to live with us being no. 1:D:)

India will beat SA!! They the better team.

Only problem is we know how 'close' India and SA are and they match fixing status.

But I hope India beat the Proteas!!:D

They also have won one or more ICC trophies.

Proteas ...... NONE zeeeero nil zilch not even a final, sorry for you...

We've won the ICC trophy and the Commonwealth games.
And a whole lot of triangulars...
