Yeah yeah... I won't hold my breath a 3rd time.

I worked at the world cup when we had it here, I supported them 110% and then some, then at the next one in WHEREVER the hell it was (place name escapes me) and ya.

We just choakers... till they prove otherwise!

They may have just after the world cup but I bet you they would not if they were named number one team in the world!

World cups are less meaningful... they are once off games in a sport where anyone can win on the day. The rankings are based on your ongoing performances.

Okay, then I am on my own, I'd like to think, these players play towards something great, an winning a WC is a amazing achievement.

It would be great if they could just beat the Aussies in a test series during my lifetime.
 
australia is weak at the moment because they hav lost 2 key players: Glen McGrath, Adam Ghilcrist, Shaun Tait is on the verge of retiring but i think he's turned around

And they're still good.

I think we'll be able to compete in the bowling department next time.
We'll have the best spinner for a change.:)

yep, we can beat anyone in the bowling departement, especially in tests where we got Dale Steyn:D, and for ODI's we got makhaya, morne and is bro, oh ya, i forgot about Paul Harris

We choke everytime we get it. And we never beat Australia getting there. It's says alot for our cricket.

Oh so Australia are the epitome of cricket? The same team that just lost to India? Who we play next. The team that is now second in the world?

Every team has their one bogey team. This does not mean we cannot be number one if we beat everyone else but them. If they too were beating everyone else and then we lost to them then they would rightfully be number one, but they have not, and therefore are not!

The only team that really could challenge Australia is India. And they proved it. We will just have to wait and see how we do against them, but we have to face England first.

The Aussies did win the test series, that's what will be remembered.
 
Obviously teams want the no.1 spot for as long as possible. Chopping and changing no.1 rankings suggests that no team is really better than everyone else. But the Aussies have certaintly proved that for many years now.

So we shall see what happens over the next year or so with the one dayers... i dont think Punter & Co. will lose the test ranking though.
