Hi all, looking for some help.
I recently purchased a property which has quite a large frontal garden. The family loves the garden but the recipient previous owners didn'nt or weren't able to look after it and let some of the plants/trees get out of hand. The property is currently bordered by a low 1.2m concrete panel wall which looks like the tops were removed to try and assist elsewhere in the property. Basically, I want to replace the wall with a steel palisade fence but have a cluster of trees directly breaking through the fence. The majority of this cluster was old bannana trees, 6m+ high. Behind this cluster and forced into the wall are two solid wood trees, one which is still a good metre from the wall which is fine but the other damaging the wall as well as enveloping overhead telecom lines. This tree I want to trim and actually remove eventually but my brother has warned me that some trees are protected species. Anyone know how I can go about identifying the tree? I found a list online of protected trees but I really don't have a clue.
