Protest Marches Not the Answer: Zille

I think if you want to find fault with any politician or party you will most likely find some fault.

There is no such thing as a perfect political party or politician. One must admit though that the name Helen Zille is synonym with "achieving". It's no coincidence that she was voted best major in the world at one stage. There's reason for this. This woman is remarkable in her efforts and commitment. Yes, she will make mistakes but her goal, focus and vision is steadfast. Under her leadership the DA will make good progress in future although they are limited with the ANC being the national party.

Yip well said. We are under control and fear of criminals and a corrupt gvt
Like that one expat in the USA once said - "South Africans don't realise how much of their freedom they have sacrificed "

BTW, will you support a Helen Zille as president? :p

This thread is about Zille who says that protests don't help.

And my post ties in with that. You don't seem to comprehend what she is saying but then again it wouldn't fit in with your agenda if you did.

Absolutely.

Shame let me explain it again for you two, I know its hard.
The ANC destroyed law and order in the time they were in charge, look at what damage they have done in the time they were in power. Now you expect Zille to fix that mess in a few years?
Get it?
We keep him around since he is mildly amusing else he would have been banned years ago.
Thanks so much RPM. :D Always thought you owned the forum
By the way I am more than mildly amusing ;)

What has she achieved besides colourful rhetoric? DA stans in this forum always congratulate Zille for what she says. Her mayor award was acknowledgement for her house-keeping skills, maintaing things as she had found them while showing what a good nanny she can be.

Right now she's saying that people like Bio should only protest in five-year intervals other than that, they should keep quiet and watch the madam being the madam.

I asked this question before, and no one bothered to answer : How bad was the WC and Cape Town under ANC rule?
Answer: Pretty much the same. The DA has a better PR campaign

remember the brown envelope scandal the DA made a fuss about?

This too
THERE was no proof of corruption in the awarding of a tender to a communications company fingered in the “brown envelope” saga involving reporters allegedly being paid off by then premier Ebrahim Rasool.
This emerged in the Provincial Legislature yesterday during a briefing by the premier’s department to Scopa.

There were some really dodgy deals when the ANC ruled.

Bottom line, the political party doesn't run the city, the salaried employees do.

Cape Town has always been well run. The DA can't take credit for it.

Yes, the DA is above any sort of dodgy dealings. As witnessed by the gupta donations sage

Really is that what she said? my god some people

It shouldn't be difficult to understand

"The truth is, protest marches rarely change anything because making a noise doesn't change a government."

Zille says that it wont make any change if Bio and others decide to go to the streets.

"Now you have to travel to Lady Grey to speak to the council. Toyi-toying has a place, when it is done peacefully, but the only way to bring about real change in a democracy is through your vote," she said.

Zille says that although protests have their place Bio and others can only bring real change if they cast their protest votes every five years

Oh really, that the only one you could come up with? Should we start making a list for the ANC so you could bury your head in the sand?
BTW, what is wrong with party donations???

DJ already started one of those for government corruption.... It reads like a giant novel.
