I am saying this because I think this will matter to you. After all your extreme hate for a company can't be just based on some power shortages 3 years ago that you want it burnt down. I assume there's more to it. And I think this will help you feel less angry at Eskom and want it burnt down less. I'm working on a hunch here but here it is.

ESKOM is fed policies according to which it's supposed to work. For the last 20 years they have been asleep and not building but instead tearing down power stations. Pretty much the same with the rest of SA - roads, railways, airports, harbours. Now suddenly we need more power to fuel our increasing population and industry and we get told we'll need to build more power stations and despite the bonuses/profits we'll need to overcharge people for power. Nice.

How many times have we been over this? Please someone for the umpteenth time post the pictures of the Eskom board of directors and EXCO. Management is just that: do as the board tells you or get out, it makes little difference black or white. And once again John I must point out that you're pulling facts out your bum.

We still have relatively cheap power despite that and despite being one of the few countries in the world who gives away a portion of it for free ! My power never goes out any more than it ever did. Amazing achievement ! Where is the freaking big drama here ?

You kidding me. The roads and infrastructure are getting worse. People - READ POOR BLACKS - and I have many friends among them - are fed up with the state of government clinics and sick of AIDS denialism. The best clinics BTW are in DA controlled Western Cape and that's why thousands of people from EC travel here regularly because they get rubbish treatment over there. The roads are deplorable. The aiport in Cape Town is a mess - it is a tiny airport for a city the size of Cape Town - parking there is a disaster - who designed it?

So we pay less for power than most of the world instead of all of the world. Such a terrible price to pay for giving 80% of our people the ability to have lights on at night and not have to go fetch sticks to cook their food ? I can't for the life of me for a second feel any kinship with anyone whop would find this something to get angry about ! Could things have been handled slightly better ? Sure...in a perfect world where Eskom has some Utopian passing of the baton in a totally smooth manner. But the worlds not perfect. So everything considered we all still have affordable reliable power and the sky is not falling. But you're so ****ing intolerant !

I don't get this about some of you who are less than kind about the abilities of black people. You ensure us they have none then you hold them to near impossible standards !
