You are aware they flip at the drop of a hat right?
edit: Same with the Fortuner. No idea if that issue has been resolved yet.

It's not an easy issue to resolve - it's symptomatic of a tall vehicle with a high centre of gravity, and lacking electronic systems. As an aside, the Off-Road mode switch on the 'Rok is pure witchcraft.

So you make a purchase based on its likelyhood to get stolen? wow....ok

You make a purchase on how likely it is to be unsafe for your family. It's not safe for them to be hijacked, and also affects your insurance premiums.

So, yes, intelligent people factor that in.

There is nothing wrong with the hilux. Its the fortuner that flips (and even that issue was resolved)
The issue might've been mitigated, but not resolved. The Hilux is dynamically outclassed by its newer competitors - an inevitable consequence of model rotation - and a victim of its own proportions. It's still bloody capable in competent hands but its age is starting to show, and it will brutally tumble-dry its occupants long before the Ranger or Amarok.

So you make a purchase based on its likelyhood to get stolen? wow....ok
Given the criminal element in our society it is perhaps something that one shouldn't outright ignore, but it is but one factor in the rather complex car buying decision.

I agree. Hilux is way past its sell by date. Ranger is... well, a Ford... Amarok is the one I would get too.

Here's the Amarok joke promised earlier:

Standing start. Quarter-mile (400m). Amarok Auto vs Ranger Auto.

I will be picking up my brand new Amarok Bi-Tdi D/C 4 Motion this afternoon!!

I simply cannot wait! I drove in a friend of mine's Amarok and I was very impressed with drive comfort and the all round finishing on the interior as well as the exterior of the vehicle. It doesn't drive like your typical bakkie it is well refined and as comfortable as any SUV I have driven in.

With some extras added it really looks good as well. Will post pics later.

Yeah man - congrats!

Damn, that was funny. I've never heard that one before...

So you make a purchase based on its likelyhood to get stolen? wow....ok

You do seem to have a carrot up your arse whenever someone purchases a new vehicle...

Congrats OP.

And again - yebo.
