So i've been running my own tunneling server in the UK for about 2-3 months now, and have decided its a waste to pay this money and only have like 1 person using it.

This being said, i'm looking for a few people(absolute maximum of 10 people, ideally 5) to help fund this server.

For those wondering "who the **** is this guy and what does he want?".

I'm a certified linux sysadmin with like >8 years experience now or so. My server has shown to have 100% uptime in the time i've used it. Traceroutes to blizzards servers show a latency of about 20ms from Gordon(thats what i call my server). And about 230ms from my Afrihost account to Gordon.

If you are interested in latencies and whatever please ping the **** out of avert.za.org.

Now you are thinking "how much?"
-I have the figure of R50/month in my head. Could make it less. Will never go more.R50 from a few people sounds like enough to cover ****.

How would i pay this kind man?
-**** knows, EFT? Cheque(lol)? Sexual Favours(y)?

Why pick Gordon over gamemax or other tunneling providers.
-Because i'll be active on this forum and even give you my contact details D:
-Gordon will never have more then 5-10 people on at once, guaranteeing low latencies for everyone and no overcrowding.
-Gordon is a cool name and fun to say. You can also make your gf/spouse/man whore jelous by saying "ohhjhhh gordon you are soooo goood"

So if you are even remotely interested in helping me fund this tunneling server, reply here or PM me and i'll hook you up with an account to test for a night.

Hey man, I'm definately interested. I've been using lowerping for quite a long time now and currently there is something wrong.

Always used to raid with unshaped+lowerping but currently I use Afrihost.

All I need is a decent isp (don't mind changeing) and a proxy that can give me sub 300ms ping as I always used to have with axxess & afrihost + lowerping.

So hook me up and let me test
 
I would really be very interested in a service like this, but I would want 2 or 3 connections to make it fair to others instead of using a proxy or firewall on my side to allow 3 people to play.

Was thinking about doing the same thing, but stuff always get in the way :eek:

**edit : oh i think i know now. 1 account can be used by multiple people.I'm a nice guy! (just looking to cut costs)

are the test accounts free to try and see if it works for me? and how does it work and setup
 
ye im gonna let people try it out for the weekend i think( i hear stress tests are all the rage lately anyway).

also its set up in the exact same way as lowerping,smoothping,gamemax and all the others.

I'ved tested it quickly from work now. All seems good & look promising. Will test it properly 2night.
 
Yes its working good for me. Same speeds as lowerping / gamepath but I'd rather support a bud from MBB. So if the test goes on a smoothly for the rest of the weekend as it is now, then avert, I'm your 1st partner on it :p
 
Dammit. I wanna test, lol. Any logins for me? I did post the OP`er for more information and will gladly pay right away to test. I think my ISP shapes down WOW traffic for some obscure reason and as soon as more than 5 people do anything in a raid.. I dc out. Really want to see if this improves my performance. Is there anyway I could get the IP of the server PM`d to me, so I can do a traceroute from Manila to check my latency to the server?

I am a sys admin as well, so dont need to be babied through all of this.
 
I'll rather let him give u the details himself. But what you can do is go to gamepath.net and test their trial acct and see if that works for you. Its basically the same as what Avert is offering with the same speeds.
 
How does lowerping ect do it? I also have a server in Europe on a very nice connection which I can use myself but I don't know how they created the accounts to not give shell access.

Hey I'm more than willing to try it, but one thing which I've experience with both gamemax and lowerping is during a 25 man raid my latency will go up to 4K+ and things will just kinda teleport around the screen. Has anyone tried doing a 25 man raid with this service?
 
uberclops, if you get that with lowerping its your pc, nic and line quality that cause it. I've used lowerping for more than a year without any such problems
 
So far a brilliant service for me!!! Not a single disconnect! Im doing the big test tonight.. 25 man runs on Ulduar and VOE... but even in Wintersgrasp... No hassles (except for a loss of FPS which had everything to do with the local stupidity of my connection and nothing to do with the orsm proxy).

Will keep you updated on the 25man.

My pings have come down about.. 70%.
 
It's definitely not my pc, although I called webafrica and the guy managed to give me the figures for my line at said the attentuation on my line is really high :( Not really sure how that is a problem though because I never had these problems until a couple of months ago.

LA is a definate problem for that. Phone telkom report an intermitted problem. Let them start by "flusing your port" as they call it and continue from there.
