Proxy Server,Tunneling and WoW.

Wanna ask the other ppl using Gordon,

How was the latency the weekend. Lately I've seen an slight increase to my latency when using Gordon.
 
Last night I had 8000ms lag in 25 mans, but my local latency was fine. I dont know if that was my local connection or what. I had to pull out the raid.

WA's trial giving me a solid 260ms with the Leantrix registry fix on Windows 7. Hoping it stays that way.

That's one SHAPED bandwidth :D

No disconnections with the proxy though, but its kinda funny to be mashing away at your keys only to hear on vent that the boss is dead, but the fight is still going on on your screen.
 
I have had around 225-350ms latency only 1 spike of 2k but apart from that its great and u can defniatly sign me up. Same constant latency in TOC 25 and Ony 25 so its brilliant
 
w1z4rd, I had the same thing. In the end I reconnected with lowerping and continued my raid.

Well... the weekend was just fine for me.
At least, Gordon's wasnt giving me any hassle.

Vent and WoW would cut out at the same time, so i know its a Vodacom problem. Damn HSDPA is so unstable its ridiculous.
During the day i sometimes take 10 mins just to open this forum.

I got a bit concerned with the list of pings wasn't showing on my putty client after logging in :eek:

But WoW then connected without a hitch, and all is good :cool:
 
Not had a single issue with Gordan at all, dc'd once in a WG raid and I'm pretty sure that ws done to some retards with heal-lib v3 and v4 running simultaneously, ignored half the raid and everything went back to normal.

So i've decided R50p/m should be enough to cover everything. I plan on receiving payment through EFT. If this is a problem for individuals we can always make some sort of plan. Paying 6-monthly or yearly is cool with me too.

As far as refunds are concerned, I won't do them. If Gordon happens to go down i'll comp you with an extra day or something. An additional or even dedicated server could help out here though if enough people are interested.

As for support.
I will try my very best to help you sort your problems out, but you must realize that there are many factors that can influence things(your connection,gordons connection,blizzards connection).

And finally, if the only thing you do is 25mans, and Gordon isn't working out for you have a bash at lowerping/gamepath!

These terms aren't set in stone, let me know what you think.

I even lagged out in an ony 10 man the other night
LowerPing is doing the job for me at the moment. Did the whole ToC25 with no DCs
However, I ALWAYS DC on ony when the damn whelps spawn!! grr

Anyway, thanks for the trail account m8. Worked really decently for the time i wasnt in 25 mans and or Ony. GL :)

I don't think people always understand the the disconnect issue, there are many many factors here.

Personally I was on a awesome connection, no lag, no spike, 240ms in a 25man man Ony, and I got disconnected on the whelps. So I thought what the hell, but anyways the raid wiped so I had another try. This time I just lowered the settings on my spell affects, nothing else, and guess what? I did the whelps again, with full blast AoE and this time around my latency didn't even go up at all, in fact it went down at that time. Difference? Instead of 5fps I had 60fps on the whelps.

Small GFX setting made the difference between a disconnect and smooth 25man raid...

Works for me bud. Generally things are fine when using the acct. I'll support you as long as all works well. Here and there a few things that got annoying, but can't be sure if it was Gordon or adsl or blizz.
Bit more expensive than gamepath, cheaper than lowerping :)

Thanks for the comeback on this.
I might end up browbeating on the price, but even that seems very reasonable at this point.

A word of warn though, I'm not at this point 100% sure if I will continue to play WoW at this point in time, mostly due to internet costs not seeing any predicted cuts for Vodacom yet.

I was sort of bargaining that they would do the right thing, like most every other DSL company, and start passing the savings on (the savings we all know for a fact exist).

I will definitely keep using the trial account as long as you allow me to.
I wont be surprised if it stops working on any specific day though, no worries there.

One favor though... send me some details in PM of where/how I can contact you at a later point when my decision regarding playing WoW at all in future turns green again.

Hey avert, are you still using Afrihost & Gordon, cause I'm having some trouble here and I'm thinking it might be on Afrihost's side. Or well I'm just trying to pin point the problem.

Was doing TOGC10 last night and ping was 380-480 (with Quartz cast bar showing 760ms sometimes), kind of annoying since I used to get 298-ish ms with Afrihost & Gordon. Been like this for a couple of days now.

Router and line settings (LA, noise etc) is the same as it has always been, so thats fine.

Please other Afrihost users throw a post here.
Also if you are using any other ISP + gordon and getting sub 300ms lemme know your setup.

Still have great latency on the Cybersmart accounts, playing with around 260-360ms most of the time.

The WA trial accounts are close to that with about 280-380ms latencies.

Oh wait I don't use gordon but my own private server in the EU at times, but many times the latency are lower without the SSH proxy.
 
Tinuva, yep thx I have already taken note of all your posts :)

Guess I'll get back to serious raiding in Jan with IC (Can't be bothered to during holiday times) and then I'll def give them a try.

For now Afrihost will have 2 do for leveling alts and the odd HM runs. Its just that any lag more than usual just annoy me soo much :0
