Proxy Server,Tunneling and WoW.

Did TheRidDlerX ever get to fix his problem? I think in the end it seems he didn't configure putty to actually make a tunnel, he just let putty connect without it, and maybe that is why his stuff didn't work. Well he never replied again so I guess he got it fixed.
 
Heya. Actually no, i never got it to work and eventually just gave up lol. Didnt reply again to avoid looking like a toddler thats running into a wall. What you are suggestion could be true, seeing neither of the apps that run WoW was able to ever 'see' the tunnel it should use, hence freezing it becuase we all know WoW responds to no connectivity in an awesome manner! Im just curious as to how i could have it set up wrong, it asks for the Gorden acc username and pass and eventually gives me a nice little ASCII picture with 'Login Successful' at the bottom, making me think its fine? :\
 
sounds like you havent set up the tunnel correctly under connections

Down the left side
[-]Connection
[-]SSH
[-]Tunnels

fill 1080 in the source port, toggle the Dynamic radio button then click Add.

(this is for putty)

go back to the first screen, Save everything then click open. Run wow through sockscap or whatever socksifier you are using.

Monthly update :

-Its been a relatively good month despite all the new uncapped offerings, Gordon has still supplied pvpers and raiders with steady latency.

Our streams are relatively dead at the moment so don't sit around waiting for them!

I am also thinking about mumble hosting for guilds, although im still at 50/50 with this so it would take _alot_ of interest.

So its been half a year, and everything is looking good. I would like to make stuff a bit more automated but meh.

I have implemented a state of the art ticket system which i hope helps on turnaround time on problems. I am also working on setting up a payfast/paypal type gateway thingy to make payments easier on your side.

Also been getting awesome latency throughout the whole seacom debacle (jealous much?)

Just one thing, what happened to the part where it told us when the acct is going to expire. Really liked that, as its a bitch for me to keep track of when it will expire (have ****load of RL crap to keep track of) and getting there one day and its not working anymore sux.
 
yeah still R50/m. I can also accept credit card payments now! Also i'll get that expiry thingy up again. think i just lost the script in a server upgrade.

as far as latency wise, I use afrihost uncapped and get about 230-280ms to wow.
