So the tax man was good to me and I got a nice little chunk of change that I wanna use to get something I dont have. I'm thinking about getting a Vita in preparation for the PS4.

What I want to know is:
A) Why do Vita prices seem to be dropping or going on special every second day? I would have thought the PS4 announcement would have done Vita good.
B) Is it a good time to get a Vita? Are more price drops in store in the run up to PS4? BTGames has one for R2k (wifi only).
C) Is a new unit on its way? (Been out of the gaming loop for sometime now)

Thanks guys.

The vita is a bit unpopular even from the start, thats why shops are trying to getting rid of their stock.

Its a great device IMO.

90% the psp titles are available on the PSN store for the Vita, however, the actual Vita titles seem scarce. If you have a Plus account then there are quite a few games available for free from the psn store, but the actual

However. I just bought myself a 3DSXL and I'm actually enjoying the games a lot more than the psp. and there is the option to add the DStwo card to play downloaded roms at a later date if I want to...

I suspect the OP wants a vita to play PS4 games while in bed during the evenings through remote play

Nintendo + Mobile phones seem to have grabbed that market, so not many buy the Vita.

Not a bad device, but some would say the premium you pay for Vita games is tad to much.

Yes, that's pretty much the only reason I'm buying it.

I'm not much of a gamer at the moment, but when I do get the PS4, I want the full experience. That's why I'm interested in the Vita. Its not an urgent buy, but I have the money and need to know if now is a good time etc as per my opening post. I have a Galaxy Note 2 with some premium games which I don't play really.

I highly doubt you will be able to play ps4 games effectively via the vita. The network lag makes it impossible to do it on the ps3.

I certainly hope they have remote play sorted out for the PS4. They cant be upstaged by the Wii U. I bought the Vita regardless and a PS+ membership. Its not a bad device. I got a PS+ membership and downloaded 3 premium games for free and also bought Marvel VS Capcom 3 for R200. The Vita also came bundled with 3 other games so I already have 7 games.

I also saw a pretty decent selection of games at BTGames. I don't get why people say the Vita has no games.

My kids venerable PSP finally died.

He has saved up enough to buy a Vita but only if he has access to the games he has built up over the last couple of years.

Has anyone here converted disc based games into a format you can put on an SD card and then play on the Vita?

Rudimentary googling appears to indicate that it is possible - just wondering if anyone here has done so?

Afaik you can only do it with a limited selection if games.

I managed to get the UNO exploit running on my vita to play PSP ISO's. Works extremely well, although a bit finicky to set up. But that's probably been patched by now.

I have a 3DS and 3DSXL
Was thinking of a Vita but to be honest there are almost no games available for it.
There are about 40 games in dev for it (too little too late imho) but we shall see.

The only reason I will consider the Vita is when they release the HD remake of FFX and FFX-2, due this year.

Which one do you like better? I had the 3DS gave it away and got the 3DSXL some days I wish I kept my 3DS. I can see the pixelation and its even worse if you switch on 3D :( Its also just a little too big I feel. The ideal size I feel would be bigger than a 3DS but smaller than a 3DSXL

vs the Vita I'd pick the 3DS or 3DSXL any day of any week, so many amazing games for it!

I prefer the 3DS XL by far.

I have Monster Hunter 3 and Fire Emblem etc.
I found the 3DS too small for the games, almost as if I have to squint at the screens and I felt that I was missing out on the action in Monster Hunter.
Got the 3DSXL on a promo through Ebucks at R1000 so thought it was worth it and must be honest...the increase in screen size is incredible.
The lower screen is also more "usable" not requiring you to whip out your stylus to use it.
The sound is also a lot better.

Overall, cant fault it!

I guess when you put it that way I have to agree. Better sound and yes things seem too small sometimes on the 3DS. So the pixelation doesn't bother you at all?

Not to the point where my eyes bleed.
LOL. I really haven't noticed.

I also play games Avabel Online (MMORPG) on my iPad with retina so I rarely compare resolutions etc by default.
The biggest reason why I got the 3DS XL is because I watched the trailer of Bravely Default:Flying Fairy and knew that I could not play it on the small screen.
