PS Vita - I don't get it.

Madman88 : Remote play is a core feature of the PS4 that must be available to each and every game according to Sony.

So there's no doubt in my mind that it will work just fine.

As for the OP...you want it for the PS4 so why not sit on the money until the PS4 arrives? If you don't have a PS3 now then managing the Vita isn't as pleasant a thing I believe and besides if the price goes down by the PS4 launch you'll be the winner.

I bought a Vita but haven't used it yet. I have a PS3, not yet interested in upgrading to PS4, don't know whether its a necessary upgrade or not.

I believe psn+ members (or whatever its called) get 2 free games every month, meaning you need lots of memory card space but seems to be worth it and the screen quality should be much better than the Psp

I already got it and to be honest, Im thoroughly enjoying it. I have 10 premium games installed: I bought 1 (Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for R200), got 6 for free from PS+ (Unit 13, Lego: Lord of The Rings, Unchartered: Golden Abyss, Sine Mora, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, When Vikings Attack) and the others were bundled with the console (Assassins Creed: Liberation, Wipeout 2048, Motorstorm RC). Ive seen 3DS graphics and they suck and look dated which is a deal breaker for me. The Vita has a great game selection for me personally. I dont know why people say it doesnt have games because there are a lot that I still want to play and more are on the way. Im really glad I went for it. R1999 well spent.

You can download your PSVita Games to your PS3 and just install on demand. Plan to do that when I get my Vita one day

Man I hope they streamline this on the ps4. The process to do this is tedious as fsk. It literally takes an hour to move a 2gb game either way.

The only thing that works well is the remote play when you are downloading stuff. Then you can control what's happening on the ps3 without having to change the channel and deal with the irate kids.
