PS Vita Phat VS Slim

Hey guys

Quick question. I'm looking to pick up my kid a Vita, was hoping for a PS4, but budget can only take me so far.

So I have a chance to pick up both the Phat, and the slim. Having reviewed both, I'm still awfully confused by it. Both apparently have their pros and cons, but not sure which way to go. I like the fact that the slim has a micro USB port, but then what else would swing the one over the other?

I would be reasonable to think that the slim version is the newer latest one. Could be that it has longer battery life or faster processing power, I'm not sure. Just a wild guess on my part. I'd go for the slim.

Phat has OLED and slim has LCD. Huge difference.
