Hey Guys & Gals,
My PS2 packed up again and I wonder if you can suggest some help or point me in the right direction. The opening/closing mechanism of my PS2 has finally packed up. It seems the alignment is out as the "magnets" are coming up too soon, so in essense it just jams. Any hints on how I can fix this in a DIY fashion? Also I *think* due to this it was giving a "can't read disk" error. I know this error is normally a glitch with the PS2, but hoping in this case that it is just because of the opening/closing was not aligning up properly. I got a bit impatient with a *cough* knife and my temper got the best of me, so now it doesn't want to close at all.
Also, if you can't give any DIY advise, anybody know of where I can send it for a service that won't cost an arm and a leg? I don't want to send it to the same guys I sent it the last time as they were a bunch of 1diots. They charged over R700 just to fix the "disc read" error which still continued after they "fixed" it and it took them almost 6 months before I got it back.
Looking forward to your comments in great anticipation. I just bought GTA:VCS and have so far only managed to play about 4 missions, so my backside is itching to get cracking at it again.
