hi there. i need some advice from guys who are doing this themselves. im moving into a new house. got the 46" hi def lcd, got the ps3. now, whats the best adsl package and modem to use with the thing?

i've been using vodacom 3g with a network cable from pc to ps3 but that was in the bachelor flat. now tv room is upstairs and study with pc is downstairs.

also, would it be a good option to connect ps3 wired to router to adsl line, and just use the pc to connect wirelessly from downstairs?

please advise, oh enlightened and experienced ones...

Hi Guy,

I dont have any technical knowledge of adsl myself, but head over to the local ps3 forum http://www.ps3za.co.za they will be able to help with any question you have!

get telkom 1024-kb/s/512-kb/s package with about 3-6 gig cap...
I run a dial up connection and play games fine.... but sometimes get a tiny bit a lag...

The 512 and 1024 have great upload speeds which means that there should be much lag...

I previously played on 3g then HSDPA but i do recommend do level 3 if you can get it. As detestful as telkom is there are few 'perks' to having them as ur isp but do head to www.ps3za.co.za

to play online the 384kbs package is fine, wireless connection works well, if possible keep the router close to the pc as the pc drops connection more than the ps3 as i think its uses tcp and router uses udp packets. Both devices should work well wireless through a single brick wall...more than that and you'll have a lower wireless connectivity
