PS3 for R2299!

Just got my PS3 for R2150 , ty Game

ok just bought mine from Game - man are they unhappy there cause they had just told another lady no she cant get one cause there is no stock at any picknpay but I found that picknpay klerksdorp have in stock - so they ended up giving both of us playstations for R2150:D

so how it works

Do not call PICKNPAYS main number they think they are out of stock and then Game say they dont have to beat the price then!!


either go to klerksdorp and buy one
or print out the ad - I printed out the lazergamer advert
I then printed out games we beat any price policy
I then printed out forum messages of all the people that had purchased one from game
I then made sure my game had stock
I have one reserved in klerksdorp and will only be fetching it tomorrow so if they phone today they will have stock - they can call Ernie at the computer department to confirm stock

They have to beat the price, so go get your PS3 now from Game before all Game stores go hide their stock!

The first game only had the bundled package which makes it a different item. So I had them phone the 2nd game in our area to confirm stock on the base 120gb model...went over there, asked to see the stock first (before they try hide it and pretend to only had bundles) then asked if they offer pricebeat - when the guy said yes, I whipped out the advert with Klerksdorp's number on. He was shocked to say the least.

Long story short, I now have a PS3 slim 120GB console for the low low Price beat amount of R2149. Since game couldn't just match the price, they were forced to beat the difference by 10% :D

I'm sitting here doing my nut in, was supposed to be paid ages ago. Only getting paid next week:mad:
 
There is the other side that everyone perhaps may not be aware of. While I am all for giving a store some stick with regard to pricing, I do think that Game are losing out big on having to match or beat the price as quoted by Hypermarket. This then could prevent Game from even offering a similar special in future purely from the standpoint that they have already made such a loss, so why would they even have a new special.

I am not saying don't do it, Game (Massmart) can afford it, I am just saying the sales guys hiding or even saying they don't have stock is well, understandable, because Game work on a sales commission basis when it comes to things like a PS3, etc.

While I have done the whole price-beat thing, I do feel slightly guilty :erm:
 
Klerksdorp got 2 left in stock, my friend booked 2, lol. but they say its first come first serve policy.

I don't see it as screwing them. While this is a fairly drastic price difference the whole point of the guarantee is to make people glad that they shopped at Game, and thus have them come back. If you did buy one from them you should be saying what a great shop Game is that they offered you this opportunity. On the other hand I'd say Game are well within their rights to declare the item out of stock to protect themselves financially. It is annoying to the customer, and I'd be first to make a fuss if I even saw a hint that they really had them in stock, but I can see why they'd make a decision to sell no more units until the Pick n Pay special is over.

Besides how many units have they really had to sell at the lower price? As soon as Pick n Pay is truly out of stock there will be no further people able to get it from Game at that price. And is Pick n Pay making a huge loss on these or has Sony sold them off at a drastically reduced price?
 
No. Game gets a discount from their suppliers once they issue you a price beat voucher. It's a situation of how can the same supplier provide two different shops with the same item at different prices:)
 
I really wish PnP would get more stock, anyone spoken to the head office about it?

not sure what to do with this thingy yet but guessing the wii wil be going to gather some dust for a while, especially now xbox and ps3 coming out with motion sensors.

I suppose better check whath exclusive sony have and make a shopping list for games

PS Game Midrand have got about 20 in stock but need to hurry while pnp klerksdorp still have stock....

only works if there are still available stock of the same SKU they can call up from elsewhere, chances are ...............:erm:.......................PS3 Slim;)
