I bought an Acer 24" G245H Full HD LCD for my pc , this model is the one without the integrated speakers. My Ps3 is connected to the screen through HDMI . Since the screen has no speakers I get perfect video but no sound for my ps3.

What kind of connector/converter will I need to get sound through my Pc's Desktop Speakers? And where can I get it?

Does the RCA output still work on your PS3?

You can then get something like a RCA - 3.5" Jack. Put the Jack in your MIC input.
That should work although this isn't the perfect solution.

I would first check if there is an option to output audio via AV cables while HDMI is connected, may only have optical as an option. If you can, try connecting the AV cables to the propprietary jack at the back, and do as McGuywer says: get a stereo RCA pair to 3.5 jack converter and plug into audio input on the monitor. No guarantee this'll work though but you only have to buy the converter which shouldn't be expensive.

Thanks a lot guys. After putting both sets of advice together. My solution (which should work in theory) is Connecting the Ps3 to my screen with HDMI. And have the ps3's RCA output plugged into a 2xFemale RCA to Male 3.5 jack and plug that into my Mic port or even my Firebox(external Sound card) better yet.
The next question is .... Can the Ps3 output the video through HDMI and the sound through RCA simultaneously? Won't there be conflict?

Someone that has tested it would have to answer.
I would think there shouldn't be a conflict.
Perhaps you can test for us?

I'm currently running my sound output through HDMI to my HT-Amp, and video through RCA directly to tv.
Won't be a problem vica versa.

Thanks A3 . I can confirm it works too! Just have to set your PS3 settings: video to HDMI and sound to RCA.
