PS3 Internet Connection with Cell C 3G Via Router...the instructions.

Is the log in a constant issue (ie now it is not possible) or is it that you can't log in at certain times of the day?
 
It's constant. We've also now established that it must be something on the Cell C network environment that's changed since where the connection was always Nat 2, it's automatically changed to Nat 3. if i swap the Cell C sim to a Vodacom sim, it instantly connects and picks up Nat 2 - this happens to other Cell C PS3 forumites as well. I may of course be wrong since i'm no network specialist, but we've been trying to narrow down what it can be for the last 5 days now, and Vodacom/MTN sims can connect, on NAT 2, while Cell C sims can't and automatically reverts to Nat 3.
 
So, issues are rampant on the xbox forums as well and they've managed to glean some more info from Cell C. Apparently Cell C has been fiddling with their default APN and started to throttle or block non-standard ports.
Cell C will have to move you over to an unrestricted, or less restricted APN which will allow through the ports required by the
PS360. They also apparently need to pre-define the APN (whatever that means), and then apply those settings to your sim card.

Can a Cell C rep please comment on this?

A couple of weeks ago I read that some vodacom users actually phoned vodacom and requested unrestricted apn.. they filled out a form and then it was sorted out, the only issue is i phoned cell c to do the same thing but they were unable to do it because they said there network was a standard apn an could not change to unrestricted.

i dont know what the problem is but i hope it gets sorted soon.. im having withdrawal symptoms of black ops!

The only way for me to log into the PSN network now is open a browsing session on the ps3 then press the ps3 button go to the log in and then log into
PSN network. I tested this a couple of times and this was the only way for me to log in. Please can you fix this, a lot of my friends list in PS3 are using Cell C for gaming and are now saying better to move to fix line because no one can log in or its a big struggle to log in. The speed-stick was working awesome before but now :-(
The problem is not the speed but getting online
 
dont think it works anymore... last week i tried seemed psn was blocked on cell c. Internet could connect but did not connect to psn via cell c and I did do teh DMZ thing. Spoke to other ps3 users who had same problem. prsume they blocking some osrt of port??
 
i can still log into psn with cell c but the only way i can do it is connecting a crossover ethernet cable to my laptop an sharing my internet with the lan point, setting my ip address for the laptop to 192.168.137.1 an telling the playstation to get an auto ip. disable the media setting and disabling the upnp an im good to go. i might have to log into psn manually but only sometimes.
