hi guys, so I have finally set up my lan connectivity to my ps3 and am happily streaming content using ps3ms. does anyone else use this?i have seen some blogs saying tversity is better?im not so sure about that one...but one thing ps3ms doesnt play is .dat file (used in old vcd's) and i happen to have quite a few movies in that format.any idea how to stream these files via ps3ms?

I used to use tversity, but switched to ps3 media server.
tversity became too bloated for my liking.

iirc, those dat files are just mpegs... rename to .mpg.

im also using ps3ms, working better than tversity imho, easier to use.

afaik if u have the codecs installed and can play the file on ur computer it should work in ps3ms, but i might be wrong. renaming should help, it probly just doesnt see it as vid files.

I have an Xbox 360 and I still prefer PS3 Media Server over TVersity and even Windows Media Center, but to be fair it's only because the latter has a very slow UI. TVersity is just a pain for me when it comes to transcoding, PSM handles it a lot better.

Each one to his/her own.

I had some connection issues, and 1 or 2 files in PS3MS that did not play and did in Tversity. Now I anly use it...... no issues for me!!!!
