Looks like the price cut got some people buying PS3's... :p

YES! The PS3 is finally outselling the Wii, well on Amazon at least

If Amazon is anything to go by, the Official PS3 price cut will certainly do the PS3 a world of good. In the space of one day, the PS3 has risen considerably up the Amazon video games best seller's charts to occupy the number one slot - edging out the Wii. It will be very interesting to see how much of an impact the PS3 price cut has on the market when the official sales data figures are released within the next few weeks.

lol I think it's a bit early to be celebrating... Lets see if the PS3 can keep it up...

All eyes are on E3 at the moment.

Oh the Wii is also still in short supply...
 
well... they funny thing is that those people to whom are sitting saving there pennies for a R6 500+ console just realized that they can now get it, now, if the ps3 drops $100 more in 6 months there won't be any stopping it!

Yeah but unfortunately, there will be quite a few of them that would've been dissuaded from buying the PS3 over the bad publicity and have gotten Xboxes and a couple of games to boot.
 
$500 is still a *** load. If that was the barrier people were waiting for, they all would have bought the 20Gb unit for that price. The truth is that people are waiting for the games more than the price, which at $500 is still high.

Although I do agree with Scotty in that the rush of buyers we see now are the ones that were preapared to save up for $600, but can now buy it early.
 
I think the Wii could sell many more if Nintendo could make them faster. Are they still struggling to keep up with the demand for the DS as well?
 
Amazon have not had stock of a wii available for sale since launch, so to say the PS3 is outselling the wii is just hot air.
YES there are wii's available for sale on Amazon, but these are from third party sellers at a premium price, not from Amazon direct and not at the RRP - you can find wii's a lot cheaper on ebay so its surprising that anyone is even buying wiis from Amazon.
The RRP of the wii in USA shops is $249.99 yet on Amazon, the cheapest third party seller for a new, non refurbished or used wii, is $401...so yes, more than likely the PS3 is outselling the wii....because there is so much stock.
If Amazon themselves had stock of the wii at the RRP of $249 then I doubt anyone would really get the PS3 paper weight.
 
I see the top 3 spots are now all PS3 products, with the Wii dropping to number 5. Sony must be happy with the response from the price cut. :)
