Oke so. BF's brother can bring us a PS3, the problem is this PAL and NTSC thing.

Can I buy a PS3 (PAL) over there?
where
how...

Help the plep please!!

All PS3 games are region free, only thing you'll have to look out for is Blu-Rays which are region specific. We fall under PAL region so if you buying a PAL console it shoudn't pose a problem with either of those
PAL = UK/EU
NTSC= US/Japan
can't remember the others

Yip - games are region free. If you buy a PAL version you will have no problems.

If you get a NTSC version your TV will need to understand NTSC. You will also only be able to play NTSC movies. PAL/NTSC games are not a problem.

Likewise on a PAL version you cannot play NTSC movies.

The other format is SECAM (France) although I don't think you get SECAM PS3's.

That's a bit misleading... The NTSC/PAL problem only really applies if you aren't viewing the game on an HDTV. Even many SDTVs support both.

Good point.

I'd also strongly recommend you only play PS3 games on a HD TV. With a normal analogue TV the text in the game looks like carp as is hardly readable. Most games I couldn't play until I got my HD.
