Mines updated to 4.40 but it can play the latest games that are on 4.46.It just asks me whether i want to convert and i press x.Got GTA IV AND COD Ghost and Battlefield 4 all working.

Some guys use the older model and cfw 3.55 firmware to play gamews on disc copies and run homebrew apps. Which is I'm guessing the intention is.

3.55 is the most stable version.You can even play ps2 isos using reactPSN on 3.55.Mine is suffering from overheating atm, gonna put a small pc fan on the back vet sucking air out with seperate power supply.

The Warriors, Persona 3 & 4, Disgaea series, Okami, Sly Cooper, Yakuza 2 (my ps2 doesn't play dual layered games anymore), Hitman Blood Money (might get the HD one instead). I was late to the party.

Nope I haven't had any heat issues with it so far. I keep it in a ventilated spot.
