Marketing ploy? Great product great price.
Consumer starts to believe all their goods are cheap when in fact...
Think they call it a loss leader promotion. Sounds great but fine print says (5 per store) and now we all discuss how good company x is.
Good luck to those who got it at that price, to the rest of us don't buy into the marketing.![]()

but dude, why would you even consider a PS3?
If you want to play single campaign games, then, sure go for it, but if you to play with the rest of the world multiplayer online, then xbox wins hands down!
online with PS3 = driving a horse and cart
online xbox360 = driving a lexus (or merc, bmw, or jag)
yeh they both take you from A - B, just not in the same style
I agree that Live rocks(well at least in other countries) but what makes PSN so bad(horse and cart)?
dunno the technical reason behind it, ask the gurus.
live rocks here as well, if you can get onto a local game.
ok maybe horse and cart was a bit drastic...will upgrade to scooter

That's a bit harshIt's more like comparing a Lexus and a Tata.
About the best I can do is just "Integration". Think of it like this, Each PSN game runs on it's own, on it's own servers, with it's own rep system, with it's own comms, a lot like PCs i guess.
Xbox Live is one platform, one set of services and servers. You can send messages and communicate across games, in game, via text and voice, in every single game, exactly the same way. Then there's the cross game invites, Friends of Friends and the other networking stuff that just makes getting into a game at any time an absolute breeze.
The 'soft' factor with XBL is the community. The SA community is huge and active online, on any given night you're sure to find someone playing something you like (or Gears of war. There's always Gears of War) And it's all done through the Xbox, there's no having to arrange games in advance or anything like that.
