:p true.... But that is what I am trying to get across, where were all the PS3 hardcore gamers?

There was a comp to dress up as a PlayStation character and the best dressed won a PS3... very low turnout really. Nationwide I would guess about 40 people dressed up...

If I was that excited about it I would have picked it up as soon as possible, taken it home and spent the night playing. I would already have taken leave to enable me to dedicate my day to playing.
 
I think a lot of people failed to be excited over the release. Quite a downer.

If you're in the East London area, take a shufti over to Videoland to buy one.

A lot of people pre-ordered. If I pre-order something, I'm definitely not going to a mall at midnight to pick it up. Doesn't matter what it is. Especially not on a weekday where I have to work again the next day.
 
Were the pre-orders no money down or did they require deposits..If no money down, will be interesting to see how many people actually fill their pre-orders. Very easy to put in a no money dow pre-order. Have been out of the loop for two weeks, would be interested to know if any stores have PS3's collecting dust on the shelves?!?!

Well I had to put a R500 deposit down at BT games. Fetched it at midnight as I had the next day off work :) . The build quality is superb and looks much better under my Bravia than an Xbox would imo. The controller feels weird being so light now that the rumble is gone, but have gotten used to it. I must say that I dont like the L2 and R2 buttons on the new controller, fingers slip off much easier than the ps2 controller. Loaded version 1.6 software and been playing FFXII for about 11hrs with no problems.
 
Stopped in at N1 city Hifi Corp. They had loads of PS3s available. Saw lots of people buying car speakers. I even walked out with a new dustbin.
