PS3 Software Update

Hi

I recently purchased a PS3. I have had so much fun playing Assasin's Creed this weekend.

My question is as follows;
I connected the console via WiFi to my router and immediately there it wanted to download an update for the PS3.
Ver 3.0 i think. I did not go ahead ans download it.

Has anyone downloaded this update and found any issues?

I downloaded it on local from here, and installed using my flash key.

Having said that, I haven't played around with it all that much..

The issues vary but its console specific. Some are experiencing issue and some aren't.

I would suggest waiting and wasting bandwidth as i think 3.1 with all the fixes will be out this week or next. If you planning on playing online then the update is forced.

No issues here too, used same method and the Sparkles is better than the Dynamic grazing Zebras theme and the Pi$$ poor Wipeout HD Dynamic theme

The new theme's are awesome. I downloaded the Wipe Out theme (free). Its incredible. Never played wipeout tho. maybe I'll give it a go.

The Afrika theme is free from the JAPAN psn store. Google to see how to register a Japanese account. The Wipeout HD dynamic scene is on SA PSN but I do not like.

I went onto PSN last night to have a look. Downloaded the Wipeout HD theme, and it's ok, not the best, but it does draw attention to the PS3. I was thinking of buying the LBP theme but decided against it. I can't wait until they make a proper HD theme, not related to Africa, nor to a game.
