PS4 or XBox One?

Microsoft made the same mistake with the Xbone that Sony made with the PS3 - they made a media centre first and a console later. Sony learned from it's mistake..

Well said.

Buy a PC for same amount of money. More useful, more multimedia, cheaper games. No competition.

Got PC already but there is nothing better than chilling on a Sunday morning playing some games lying down :)

xbox one!!

forza forza its just awesome , much better then any racing exclusive the ps4 have , oh wait they have none atm lol

:) I am not a car/ bike gamer so this isn't going to sway me over :)

Major difference in terms of computational power between XBone and PS4, in the PS4's favor. The June edition of the MIT tech review did a system parity test, (you can get the pdf of the magazine on the pirate bay), with the XB1 lagging way behind the PS4. Which is the main reason Microsoft bumped the GPU and CPU speeds, and shuttled the Kinect.

In terms of media features and the like, remember its all software, so there is nothing prohibiting Sony from adding the same features later on. They have already confirmed that DLNA support will be added in an update.

My Xbone just arrived :D.

Now to juggle my schedule a bit...

PS4 has the wider selection of genres. Where on xbone you only really get shoorters, PS4 focuses on a lot of other genres like RPGs, platformers and they have the bigger Indie support. So if you get your games off PSN you'll be much more lkely to find kid friendly games there.*

Then also the fact that the PS4 has been out for a while already you can easily find second hand games.

Then as the PS4 is outselling the xbone by 3 to 1 internationally over time the PS4 will get more exclusives.

*Obviously i'm talking in general as there are always exceptions to every rule.

This is a fallacy. They have pretty much the same offerings in that regard with a massive proportion of games being multiplatform.

Xbox One is the only one that really has any racing games worth a mention right now, but that will change in October through November.

Xbone. Go hold the PS4 and Xbone controllers and you'll come to the same conclusion.

Also, you don't get more kid-friendly than Kinect.

I expected the same...yet I intensely disliked the XO controller experience.

Controller choice is going to be entirely based on the person holding it...there's isn't an obvious winner.

I do agree on Kinect though...if you have kids in the house that's the one to go for and will be the main reason I would be shopping for one in the future when my daughter is old enough to play it.

I thought that too, but after playing with both, the PS4 controller is a huge improvement over the PS3 one. Whereas the X1 controller felt like a step backwards from the 360 one. I feel that overall, once you adjust to the symmetrical layout of the PS4 analogue sticks, the PS4 controller edges the X1 one...

I have never played a PS3 so what would the difference be from the Xbox 360 controller vs the PS4?

They're pretty much the same IMO, once you adjust to the layout of the analogue sticks. Battery life on the PS4 controller is only about 10 hours, which I think is the only downside, but I'm sure that will be addressed eventually either officially or via 3rd party. I'm coming from a 360 too btw...

Stuck on the edge a little.

Should I buy the PS4 or XBox One

And how long will the PS3's be around for...

What are your guys and gals thoughts.

Buy whatever console is cheaper - they both do the same thing, play games and stream .
I got the xbone a while back mainly because my PS3 is used as a dust collector, but with the improved PS4 controller there isnt really a difference between the two, and if there is in graphics and whatnot, it won't be noticeable.

The kinect is cool, but meh, unless you get kinect games. If sony have decent enough exclusives will probably also get a PS4, just scared will end up with 2 dust collectors :D

Setting the LED to dim makes a huge difference without affecting anything really.

In my case I have two controllers and the charge dock. If one runs out while I'm playing I switch to the other one which almost never happens since they are permanently on charge unless I forget to put them there.

@Westmore the transition from 360 to PS4 was almost completely transparent for me. Unlike from the 360 to PS3 which I had to fight all the bloody way because it made no bloody sense.

It's already quite noticeable that the Xbox One is struggling. It's going to be much worse a year or two from now.

If you don't want the media features and such the PS4 is the logical answer.

The Xbox One is like buying a 4-seater 4-door super car...yes it's still a supercar and has a few benefits but the leaner meaner more lightweight 2-door 2-seater version is ultimately going to kick it's ass, not by much...but still.

Already did that and it extends the battery life by about 3 hours. But people shouldn't expect a 30+ hour cycle between charges like they did on the 360...

Have a look at exclusives, (which do you like)
Mulitiplates will be better on the PS4.

And choose.

True.

My 360 was a nightmare with batteries to be honest.

First got the Play & Charge kits and then those went to **** within a year. Then bought some expensive rechargeables and they also went to pot pretty quickly.

Then bought some more rechargeables and then it seemed to stick. One of the main reasons I make a fuss about the XO still using batteries as opposed to the PS4.

just be smart [and part of the master race]... get a pc

This is my calling after looking at the exclusives.

The Last of Us - I really want to give this game a go.

Bloodborne looks bloody good as well.
