Shame. Dude spends so much time trying to mock people who clearly don't know what they are talking about he misses the fact that, at least in Ghost of Tsushima's case, the SSD does in fact make quite a difference from a technical standpoint.

Why? Because the pre-rendered cut-scenes in the PS4 version were in fact used to disguise some degree of loading (confirmed by Digital Foundry). Now that the console can load almost instantaneously the cutscenes can be rendered in real-time and synced to any language without the need to store pre-rendered video for each, thus avoiding wasting space or instituting additional load screens should a cut scene be skipped.

As reported by VGC, internet tech guru Austin Evans recently took a deep dive into the new PlayStation 5 model and posted his findings on YouTube. According to him, the new PS5 contains a much smaller heat sink, which transfers heat away from vital circuitry to prevent the system from overheating. This altered heat sink also contains less copper, a likely result of the COVID-19 pandemic causing the price of the metal to rise in recent months. Evans also ran a temperature test on the updated PS5, which revealed that the new model was running 3C hotter than the launch version.

Why are games so expensive in this country? I wanted to play Far Cry 5 with a friend of mine, I bought it on special a while back but he doesn't have it so I checked the price. When I googled it, it took me to the US PlayStation store, and I noticed the game costs $60. I then checked the South African store and the game is R1159 which is like $80? Why are we getting shafted here? Shouldn't games be cheaper because of our economy? Isn't that what Steam does? Does anyone here have any insight into this?

TL;DR: Far Cry 5 is $60 on US ps store but ~$80 on SA ps store, what gives?

Precisely why having a secondary US account to take advantage of the cheaper pricing is a must these days.

I bought Returnal on special the other day. R1100 on the SA store, R780 on the US one.

How do you go about getting a secondary US account?

Log onto the US version of the PS Store website, create a new account (generate the necessary fake address for verification) and once done add this secondary account to your PS5. Anything you purchase on this account is usable on your primary account.

I buy US PSN credit vouchers via Amazon and load those into the secondary account.

I recall reading about an issue with DLC when using this method. Are there any drawbacks?
