That's why I just did a pick-up instead for the Xbox. They called me on the morning to tell me it was ready for pick-up which I was quite surprised by.

Their online pick-up does feel very much like an afterthought though, it's this tiny little room stuffed in the back of the store (I had to ask 2 people before I actually found it). On the upside I was the only person doing a collection but the woman helping me still had a hard time getting the system to scan the item out and what should have been a 2 minute pick-up took around 15 minutes. Experience may differ between stores though, this was the one in Montague Gardens in Cape Town.
 
Managed to grab a Digital Edition off Koodoo, it was sold out by the time I went back to the homepage again.

I asked the same question last week and was directed to the playstation blogpost to say that only pre-orders will be available on launch day. The brick and mortars (like Game and Makro) will offer a collect/delivery service for pre-orders only.

Could be wrong though.

It would just suck for those that pre-ordered on the second drop to be outdone by brick and mortars on launch day.

I'll visit my makro tomorrow afternoon and ask if they'll have stock to buy on Thursday - I'll report back what they say.
 
If there isn’t any stock, on Friday I’ll be streaming Spider-Man: Miles Morales until we get platinum, and then will move on Demon’s Souls

I am going to try makro, game, musica and bt games tomorrow morning. Maybe one store will have an extra console so I can buy it. Can only hope. If not, guess I will wait for somebody to sell theirs second hand or wait till next year.

Maybe give a couple of Musica megastores a try.

I called my local Musica around 2 weeks back (with not much hope) and put my name on a waiting list, to my surprise they gave me a call yesterday to issue my order number and collection time. I was told if i don't collect by 2pm my console will be sold off.
 
Anyone see any movement on their Takealot orders? Still only showing expected to ship on 19th. Not even in process
 
Stopped off at my local makro. All the ps5 stock in the back has been allocated to pre-orders.

So they won't have any stock on the floor to buy it seems.
