PS5

I think MyBB should do a "blindfold" test on all these members who claim they can see screen Mhz and FPS differences etc with their naked eye.

Get them all together with different screens and different platforms (hidden from view) running at different optimizations and speeds, and then get them to rate what they believe the performance to be - without the help of any software rating mechanisms.

I believe the results would be interesting.
For once I agree with you. LOL.

So you volunteer to be part of the test group then? :)
It’s amusing that you’re so blind to it that you think we’re pretending.

Would I volunteer ? Nah, been done hundreds of times before, just search YouTube.

I'm looking for something a bit more verifiable than You Tube videos - otherwise I might start believing the earth is flat :)

I also find your eagle-eyes claim to be amusing - otherwise, why would places like DF need all these scientific and technical tools to measure performance - they could just rather employ you. In Rands as well - much cheaper!

The software tools are there so you can quantify what you can see and give a qualitative assessment on. You understand why we use metrics, don’t you?

It’s not surprising that a lot of people can’t tell the difference, the latency at which your brain processes visual input is going to be different depending on all sorts of things that cause variation in how the neurons in your brain are firing - age, sedatives / stimulants, sleep, etc.

Sure man. Why don't you send your CV to DF in the meantime ;)

When everyone is struggling to see your point, you likely don’t have one.

What the does DF have to do with anything?
You do know that we can see a game runs like **** without a DF tech review right? What is extremely useful/insightful however is to see why it is running **** (frame times, stutters, general low FPS, etc). This is not actually complicated to understand

There's a difference between measuring performance including frametime graphs etc to provide accurate information, and offering a subjective opinion when seeing that the game stutters and slows down in certain situations.

And would you look at that, there's a corrolation between people noticing performance drops in a specific game and tech outlets confirming it later - just like in Forspoken, etc.

Hopefully FF16 improves by launch, as apparently it's 1.01 and the State of Play version was 1.03, with a launch version probably being even newer.

I’ve not been paying attention, for some reason I thought FF16 was a late July release, and now I see it’s in 9 days :D

It’s gonna be this or Ragnarok (which is still basically full price) next for me I think.

Whilst you all are debating over frame rates and who can and cannot notice such things.. I’m just trying to survive the corrupt machines in Zero Dawn with a bloody bow

Tough choice...just missed a sale on GoW:R as well. I would try the FF16 demo and see if it's for you...even though the hype is high I don't think it'll be for everyone.

Think I need to get some storage now...this still a good deal @ R1900? If I'm not mistaken it was a bit cheaper on sale last time?

Picked up one from Wootware for R1587

All in it was R1513 last time, so the Wootware deal is decent. And this thing performs perfectly. Definitely best value for money in my opinion

nice, I see the demo save game apparently will carry over, so I think it's a no-brainer to play the demo

I had no idea that you had reached out to everyone - thanks for all the effort.

If you can't grasp my point, or why I referred to DF, I imagine it's likely due to too much of your brain being devoted to your eagle-eye superpower.

But I find it interesting that my little post seems to have caused such feedback - it's almost as if some of you are worried that MyBB will ask you to participate in such a test...

I'll gladly participate in a test- a 30fps vs 60fps.

I'll even put money on it.
As I will be printing money by doing this, I'll be super generous, and offer 2:1 - if I cannot say if it is 30 or 60fps, I'll give 2, if I can, I'll get 1. Choose whatever multiple of 1 you like.

Never thought I'd regret ordering my beautiful Dbrand Darkplates, but thanks to the new N64-inspired versions of them, suddenly I kinda do. Might order another set regardless.
