Yes I’ve got it installed correctly. You physically can’t install it without the twisting the stand.

There is no way any PS5 can’t wobble considering it doesn’t have four contact points to stand on.

The entire thing floats, therefore it wobbles.

Which is why I wondered if that’s better with the new one since the stand is now optional.

Lol what an odd complaint...do you have cats sitting on the thing or what? I've literally never heard anyone complain about a wobble but you do you...

It’s just makes it feel very cheap and nasty.

Surely you clean your stuff often enough? And every time I do it reminds me how Sony completely ignored function in favour of form.

They’ve just always taken shortcuts and been quite poorly made.

I've cleaned my launch day PS5 a few times, last one was right before I sold it and it's actually clear from that whole process how much they favoured function as you can take the whole thing apart, even remove the fan without much fuss. Not to mention the vacuum holes. I understand that it will tilt if you put it horizontally and push down on the front left/right side, I just don't see how it's an issue...like at all.

“Morisawa said that he knew the console had to be bigger than its predecessors, because more power means the need for a bigger heatsink and more air flow. ”

Don’t you start off knowing the thermal requirements and work around that? This is the very definition of form over function, when an “artist” handles the thermal design.

Credit to them on that front.

If the thing’s damn HDMI-CEC worked properly and it didn’t turn itself on at random so I need to press the physical button and feel the wobble every time to turn it off again, it wouldn’t have annoyed me as much.

At least this time around they sorted the bloody jet plane fan noises out.

That being said those are “leaks” and I suspect very intentional ones to test the market.
