PS5

I'm new to console gaming I have always been gaming on PC, would appreciate some advice.

Now that my kids are bigger I'm looking at getting a PS5. But I will probably use it as well for racing games etc.

Which 4K 65" TV will go well with it?

Not sure if 120Hz is worth it?

Not all games will have a frame rate of 120fps. But there are some games that support this frame rate. Playstation only recently added amd freesync support to select games. But when purchasing a new tv it's best to future proof and invest in one with HDMI 2.1.

Unfortunately not too many options locally. Samsung and LG would be easiest to find. But you will struggle finding anything decent for under 20k. LG Oled would be my recommendation. 55inch starts at around 22k and i think the 65 sells for around 40k if you shop around. Not cheap at all but definitely worth it if you have the budget.

The 55 for R22000 is a good deal IMO.

I still prefer a gaming monitor for the speed and eye comfort on desk. But for couch gaming on you won't find better.

I'm sure there's a handful of guys on here that play on OLED?

Well it blows hot air out the back and it looks like there is limited flow out there.
So long game session, esp on hot days gonna fill and recycle hot air?

Dont think it’s a real issue, maybe move the unit more to the front?
For peace of mind. 2 x 26 cfm fans exhausting out the back. (There is a space between the back and the shelf).

Additional PS5 Pro Specs and Details Potentially Leaked – 60% Raster Uplift, 2x RT, September 2024 Reveal

Additional PS5 Pro specs and details might have surfaced online, including a reveal date of Sony's rumored powered-up PS5 console.

We've reported on the PS5 Pro model on more than one occasion. As covered back in May of this year, a Pro console is said to be 100% in development at Sony. More recently, we reported on a rumor that the console will be powered by a custom eight--core Zen 2 CPU, possible double Tempest Engine performance, two shader engines, and more. Interestingly, the first rumor was part of a larger rumor from leaker Tom Henderson, who also claimed that Sony was working on a slimmer PS5 model. As most of you will know - this has proven to be accurate, and the slimmer PS5 models are now available globally.

On X (formerly Twitter), Tom Henderson was asked about these leaked additional specs of the PS5 Pro, but Henderson replied that he couldn't comment on them. The leaker added that, Sony is expected the console's full specs to leak this month due to dev kits being distributed to third-party developers.

If anyone has a spare ps5 or ps4, consider giving it to my son. He did so well this year, got an average of 80,2% whole year round and 84,2% in Term 4. I would buy it myself if i had the money (budget so tight). Thank you for reading and if you can give him the reward he deserves.
