PS5

Was it a big seller for Sony?

A quick google search brought up this:
Yes, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was a success, evidenced by its strong sales numbers, #1 download rankings in key regions, and generally favorable reviews. Analysts report it sold over 1.3 million copies shortly after its release, and it was the top downloaded game on the PlayStation Store in Japan and the US in June 2025. Review aggregators like Metacritic also gave it "generally favorable" ratings.

All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support

Power Saver is a new performance profile added to the PS5 as part of its memorably named 25.06-12.00.00 update on 17th September, 2025.

While it can be selected in the console's settings, it also needs to be individually supported by games in order to work.

There are currently 4 PS5 games with Power Saver support.

They are:

What Is Power Saver for PS5?

Power Saver mode is a performance profile for PS5 designed to reduce overall power consumption while playing supported games.

It achieves this by enabling a scaled-back performance profile in any of the aforementioned supported software, reducing their image quality or overall frame rate.

This means the games will look worse overall, although early testing shows that enabling Power Saver can reduce electricity consumption by more than 50% on a base PS5 console.

Likely early tests for the PS6 handheld or whatever they will call it.

The problem with a ps6 handheld in my opinion is that all games will then have to also work on the “lower” spec machine, which might stifle the quality of games.

Thinking of series S scenario here.

Not too worried about quality since things like PSSR and FSR4 will likely be a big help in that regard. Some AAA games already look pretty decent on Switch 2 with DLSS

If it is some kind of hybrid console, maybe the only difference would be clock speed unlike the series S which is just straight up weaker hardware. So they could probably just lower the settings and resolution.

In theory, the S should not be a problem as it utilizes the same CPU with a downgraded GPU that targets the lower resolution.
The f up that Microsoft made was lowering the quantity/quality of the RAM.

All the problems I have seen thus far from developers are related to the limited usable memory and speed.

Series X:
10GB at 560 GB/s
6GB at 336 GB/s

Series S:
8GB at 224 GB/s
2GB at 56 GB/s

For Comparison
PS5
14GB at 448GB/s

PS5 Pro
18GB at 576GB/s

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches on PS5 in 2026

Rebuilt and modernized version of the original Halo campaign includes two-player couch co-op and four-player online crossplay.
Halo: Campaign Evolved has been rebuilt from the ground up to honor the original while modernizing the experience. The full campaign returns with every mission enhanced through high-definition visuals and all-new cinematics. We’ve also evolved the gameplay experience itself with smoother controls and movement, as well as improved wayfinding and combat flow. The soundtrack has been fully remastered, while the sound design has been rebuilt to deliver a more immersive experience.

That's Yōtei done.

Fantastic game, saved the best for last (epic duel on top of the mountain, iykyk):

Overall, I'd say it's an improvement on GoT in every way except the story. Fighting an invasion of your homeland is just more bad ass than a standard revenge story imo. As for Atsu vs. Jin, I liked both, Jin will always be the OG. Atsu had a bit more personality and some of her quips were funny enough to get a chuckle out of me.

Now eager to see what they cook up for the Legends mode next year.

Nice! I'm just waiting for my copy to arrive

Definitely Carb, although I bought my one from a work mate.

Bought DS2 on carb though, and Yotei from Facebook marketplace (although the latter was very stressful as I find Carb people just more trustworthy).

I'm thinking since it's all mostly PC hardware these days anyway, they can just build games the same way they would for PCs. Medium settings on handheld, high on console...

Almost done with Ghost of Yotei, completed most of the side content and now just need to finish off the main story.

Can't say it blew me a way, but it's a pretty game and runs well and is a better open world design than Ubisoft games but I does just feel a bit uninspired and much of the same as the previous game.

That might also be because I've just finished bangers like Expedition 33 and the Nier series just before this so the bar was really high.

Got my money's worth I think though.
