You cancelled Kojima? OMFG Sony what is wrong with you? This is one extremely influential developer you keep around if at minimal only for image sake.

And Square Enix has also been very outspoken about going multi-plat lately.

Shift Up already bailed too.

Well, bitter boy, this gen I'm going to order and play GTA6. Just to grate your balls.

Also going to see if I can get my hands on the GTA6 edition dualsense controller. Most probably already sold out though. But I'll keep you updated..
 
All these decisions from Playstation of late sounds like company that has almost exhausted their total addressable market and the only way for them to continue growing profits is to cut costs and charge existing customers more. I have my doubts that this strategy will work for long.

Preparing their finances for the big hit to come with the next gen.... They might have to do more co-funding / hardware cost absorbing with the next generation devices to keep pricing low enough to get at least some kind of market...

What is very confused about is why are Sony making such bad decisions lately.

They are a Japanese company, Japanese culture is about doing what is right and not to bring shame to them, so why are they doing all of this kak to make them look bad?
 
It still annoys me that we could've had The Last of Us Part 3, Days Gone 2 and Horizon 3 and instead ended up with two cancelled GAAS titles and a third that nobody cares about.

What a lot of people dont seem to realise is that gaming is Sony's golden goose/lifeline.

Any decision they make will be carefully considered. The fact that the internet explodes with outrage at nearly everything these days will have been taken into account.

There will be a very solid reason for culling this Kojima game, knowing the publicity it would get just after the disk hysteria.

They are not MS, and dont have billions in cash lying around looking for a place to be spent.

And as for those 3 AAA games you mentioned - you do realise the cost of them these days?

Then again, maybe they canned this project to divert funds to one of these .
