Hey

Can someone recommend a site where ppl convert PSD to html/css. Googling reveals a lot of options but I thought it best to ask if maybe someone has used one of these sites.
Or perhaps someone here is confident enough to do it themselves. I would try do it myself my I don’t feel comfortable with browser compatibility and W3 validation
Im looking at about $100 for one page with about a 5day lead time and maybe alittle bit of support if my client has changes.

PSD is photoshop is it not? You have to use the Adobe software?

yes i need a website layout, that i have made in Photoshop ,sliced and coded into cross-browser compatible, valid XHTML / CSS markup

The adobesoftware will not code it for me

I'm confident enough to do it myself, but I already have two freelance jobs I'm working on in conjunction with my normal day-job... *sigh*

Heck, for a $100 per page price tag I'd do it. :p (Especially considering how the Rand/Dollar is starting to peak...)

How many pages designs are there?
Browser standards aren't that difficult to work with/around these days, thanks to scripts like html5shiv.js, ie7/8/9.js, etc. Why don't you give it a try?

It just feels that the time taken for me to code the site, i could be working on other freelance stuffs.
Im considering using dreamweaver but i really need this to go off without any problems. Its for a US client and they have lotsa these $$

Just a question: Why on earth would any person create a web-site in the PSD format?

I will be able to assist you with the conversion for $100.

Check PM.

You use PS to create the website concept.

How else would you do the graphics of the site? In word?
Well that depends on what you mean by graphics? If you mean the pictures, then yes by all means use PS. But those pictures can then be saved as PSD and later resaved as jpg no?

LOL, I'm not a big Adobe fan, let me rephrase, I HATE Adobe software. Adobe reader being point and case why I don't like them. Even photoshop feels so bloated and slow. Granted OSS hasn't quite reached the level of PS. Reader on the other hand is only for fools.

Hmm, well I assume it is quicker in PS then else it seems pointless. Might as well create the concept in actual HTML if the time taken is similar.

Just using plain old simple Notepad++, Firefox + Firebug and JQuery I can produce HTML pages quite quickly.

There was an article on smashingmagazine (I think) recently on "designing" in HTML rather than PS.

Two things:

1.) A design in anything but Photoshop or similar is going to be pretty ****ty.
2.) How do you give a client design options? You're surely not going to create cross-browser compliant HTML for each design.

Well if you need, I'll do it drop me a PM if you need ;)

@ Gnome - It's a lot easier to design & adjust any client changes in PS. Producing the HTML pages is not a problem, guess whatever floats the boat though :p
