Troll much do you?!
The only info they got hold of was cracking the PS3 wide open. Sony have a badly designed system that keeps allowing people with CFW or firmware spoofs that allow them to connect to PSN.
And you believe the feckers just because they said so and there is a U-tube video? Shame, you know they are criminals, you know they have NO leadership or structure, You know they work independently from all over the globe as individuals. You also should know that some of the neo criminals attacked the Qriocity service and PSN for criminal intend thus stealing benefits for free. You also know that the criminals (hackers) also attacked the banking systems and other sites due to the Wiki leaks saga.
And You believe what they say? Shame.
**UPDATE** SCEA PR Rep Eric Levine just dropped us a quick note with some responses to the questions, while still vague at least they are working on fixes and listening to the feedback of their customers. One thing of interest is that it seems they are still investigating if personal data was breeched and in what capacity. Responses from SCEA PR are in red.
For a 4th day gamers are waking up to no access to their online PS3 gaming, as Sony continues to keep the Playstation Network offline due to “external intrusions”. Since the 20th when PSN went down around the world Sony has been very vague and only given out the same update “The system is down, we are working on it”. But after 4 days gamers are beginning to get restless and there are many questions that myself as well as others feel need to be answered by Sony sooner then later.
1) When will service return?
We were told 1 to 2 days but that was 3 days ago. It’s understandable that the downtime and fix might take time but gamers would like a window of time.
SCEA: We will announce through our websites as soon as there are any updates. We are currently investigating to determine the cause of this outage and are working to restore and maintain the services. Since this is an overall security related issue, we will not be providing further commentary for this case.
2) Will Playstation Plus subscribers be reimbursed for downtime?
Sony rolled out this great subscription service which while doesn’t give extra online play, but does offer access to games that require downloads. For 4 days us Playstation Plus subscribers have not been able to download or access full game trials and other content that we have paid for.
SCEA: We will let our subscribers know as soon as there are updates.
3) Is our personal information safe?
The first thing Sony should have investigated and informed us about is, if the hackers were able to access user personal information including credit card numbers. At this point we should know from Sony if our personal information is safe, and if it isn’t, then it’s only right that we know so we can take our own protective measures.
SCEA: We are currently investigating the matter, and will notify as soon as there are any updates.
These are just 3 of the many questions that have been swirling around the internet, and in my book 3 of the most important. We ask Sony to answer these questions and give the gaming community the vital information that they need to insure the safety of their personal information. If you have questions leave them in the comments below and we will add them to this post.
**UPDATE** Some people are commenting that this is fake and we just made this up. I hate people who act like this and usually don’t respond to them as it’s a waste of time. Please don’t question our integrity here at VGrevolution.com, one thing is for sure we WILL NEVER post things that are unfounded like MANY MANY other sites do on a daily basis. We would rather give you good solid information and have less hits than post made up crap to try to gain hits.
As you know, we’ve been poking fun at the PSN downtime by making light of a bad situation. The word around the Rumor mill is that the services will start to come back online soon, with PSN Japan being back online now, EU later today or tomorrow, and US by Tuesday or Wednesday. Are any of the rumors true? Honestly, the last word posted on the PlayStation Blog isn’t exactly good news, but for now I guess it’s safer to answer with the standard PR generated response until everything is back to normal.
A source with close connections to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe reports that the attack to the PlayStation Network may be a bit deeper than originally reported by Sony. According to the source, who wishes to remain anonymous, the PSN sustained a LOIC attack (which created a denial-of-service attack) that damaged the server. There was also a concentrated attack on the PlayStation servers holding account information. In addition, “Admin Dev accounts were breached.”
As a result, “Sony then shut down the PSN and [is] currently in the process of restoring backups to new servers with new admin dev accounts.” The SCEE source said Japanese servers may be restored tomorrow while the U.S. and E.U. servers will likely be operational the following day.
While this information is only corroborated via a series of Facebook messages, it is certainly not a stretch. Sony Computer Entertainment America recently confirmed that it pulled down the PSN because of an “external intrusion.” This essentially means that hackers were to blame. Sony is officially conducting a thorough investigation. The PSN and Qriocity services were pulled offline by Sony on Wednesday, April 20.
There was plenty of speculation late this week that the Anonymous hackers group was to blame for the PSN downtime. The group previously targeted Sony in retaliation to the legal action against another hacker. Anonymous has since denied involvement in the current PSN downtime.
Again, this information is from a source who claims to have a very close connection with someone at SCEE. We take these reports for what they are at this time, but it is certainly a possibility. If you have information to share, please do so.
"Everyone deserves the right to know what’s been going on," the source wrote in an email.
Apparently users who flashed their PS3s to run in dev mode, where able to purchase content with invalid CC numbers as dev testers do not purchase why physical transactions.
This is the site of the firmware: http://rebug.me/
thus all accomplishes to this saga. Sony should reopen the Geohot case.Codename: REBUG would like to thank:
Geohot, fail0verflow and graf_chokolo (Our thoughts are with you guys)
To all those supporters of Geohot and Co, who opened Pandora's box - I hope you get banned for life - *********s. Now we all have to suffer due to these idiots. You all claim "free rights and cr@p". Just sell your ps3's and move on. Sony doesn't want you!

Just goes to show how badly PSN was designed.
Get back to Xbox live troll , With Xbox live you can patch games so they wont even figure out that your copy is not legit.
Just goes to show how badly PSN was designed.
Troll??!! :wtf: I prefer my PS3 over my Xbox any day! I'm just saying. XBL is even worse - pay for that...no thanks.
Just goes to show how badly PSN was designed.
