PSP video converter

My friend has some videos he'd like to convert for his PSP. He ripped them to .avi from DVD and now wants to convert them to be playable on the PSP. I'm not sure how technically inclined he is, so preferable something straightforward and easy.

Good software recommendations?
 
PSPvideo9 - Last time I used it it appeared quite customisable ie. complicated for the average user

The converter I currently use now is WinAVI MP4 converter which converts from basically anything to a format for most mobile devices (Cell (3gp), iPod and PSP). It's basically 3 clicks to convert (when using default settings) and there is an option for it to auto transfer the vids to the PSP. Downside is it's not free.

There was another converter I used for sometime but not sure what it was called. Think it was PSPxvid or something.
 
PSP Video Express, Smart PSP Converter, Xilisoft.

Of course, the best option in all situations is still mencoder ;)
 
Well I looked around earlier and have downloaded PSPvideo9, so I'll give that to him and see how he goes.
