Lo Peeps, I come in need of some help.

My Thermaltake PP PSU 480w died a few weeks ago, so ordered a Aopen 500w from a local PC shop which after two weeks of waiting didn't arrive so I went driving around town looking for the best PSU I could find which happened to be a cheap K-Mex 500W (EL PC shops suck to say the least). The PSU seemed fine besides for one problem, speedfan/everest reported the +5v rail not to be stable at all, jumping from 5v to 4v sometimes even as low as 2v:eek: The PC seemed to be running fine until today when i played a BF2, getting some major artifacts from both my 7900gt & 6600gt, could this be from lack of power? is this my sh!tty wiring or do i need to take it in?

Thnx in advance :)

R399, I was VERY apprehensive when i bought it, but it was the best anyone had in town! All the other PC shops tried to sell me 300w FFS.

brawler i cannot stress how you need to buy a brand name psu

think about the most important part of a system, ppl will say cpu mobo ram

without a good psu all those things are worth shyte

never go cheap on a psu even if its the only one in town

if you ever buy a 8800 i can assure you wont run it on that psu

i paid 950 for my 500 watt antec from a supplier
it runs my 8800 gtx overclock conroe 2 gig ram 4 hdd's dvd writer without a problem

NEVER GO CHEAP ON THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A SYSTEM

take it back and swop it out and if they wont swop it out, which they wont because all tests on their side will come back fine

ya I know I hate buying cheap PC stuff, makes me feel dirty.. lol
Was just a bit gatvol of waiting & took a chance, but im taking it back tomorrow, will probably have to order another better psu from them doubt they will give refund, technically it is working.
