I'm sure it's a good PSU, but it's overkill. Save R500 and go for a 500 - 600watt PSU.

I am going to be purchasing that OCZ 700W. Is dynax.co.za reliable?

never heard of them, I used Zaps.co.za, digitaladdiction.co.za from etai or sometimes prophecy.

Yeah, I've bought from Zaps and Prophecy. I have heard of digitaladdiction, but never bought there. Dynax has the best price for this PSU, as said by the thread creator as well, so I would like to know if they're reliable. I read a customer review of them and apparently they're good with service and the like.

Well I was browsing their site, not bad.

Try them out and let us know:)

Always good to know great online stores :D

Dude, if u carefully read what he's running you'll notice an 8800gtx and P4 which are very power thirsty. I ran my 8800gts and Q6600 with a 450w psu and had endless hassles, until I put in a 700w psu. Rule of thumb with psu's The higher the better.

As someone else already said. You probably had a no name psu.

Guys, this is my rig:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ @ 3.07GHz | Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 | 2x 1GB DDR2 800MHz Kingston ValueRAM | Inno3D 9800GTX+ | LG 20x DVD Writer | Thermaltake PurePower 460W

Do you think it is necessary for me to pay R1700 for a Corsair TX750W? I know that my rig will not use all the power but I need something that'll last me like 2 years. I also plan on getting 4GB more RAM, a new motherboard and an AM3 Phenom X3 when they're released so count that in as well.

If you've got the cash, go for it. I would usually suggest either the HX520 or 620, but the 750 is only a couple hundred more so I think its worth it.

Ur PSU is fine for now, rather get the new PSU with all the new stuff...upgrade in one go since its not urgent

Certainly not, it will be overkill. According to PSU calculator, your upgraded rig will use ±500watts, including 2 HDDs and 2 USB devices.

Okay, I have looked at the CM Real Power Pro 550W and that is damn good for its price, but the 650W is only R100 more. So I think I am going with the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650W. Only ~R1200 at Take2.

Seems like a good deal, but you may as well do what Namite said and upgrade everything at once. Your psu should be perfectly fine for now.

Okay. It sounds good. Gives me time to gather more cash together. :)
