PTAWUG still active?

The WUG was never an ISP, but rather a closed network. This is my understanding?
yes - it was but some did share internet breakout.

There is not much point to it now but *could* be useful as fail-over with other members in case you primary fibre goes down.

I caught an old high site on my Wifi analyzer app. Went tonight and sat nearby where I caught it last on my laptop. It seems to be still running, I will try to see if I can sniff any packets coming to and from the high site using airodump or something.

Great reminiscing about the PTAWUG days. More than the actual network it was about the amazing community. It was great fun. Who remembers playing CS Source on the Moot server? We did last player standing rounds, playing the game 24/7 until only one person was left remaining. I think I came 2nd once. I also remember when over 50 WUG members pitched up to build the Akasia highsite on the mountain, digging trenches for the cables, just to have the cables stolen out of the ground a few days later. Good times.

I studied at a certain private uni in Akasia, and I remembered that there was 2 students that was contributing to the PTAWUG group, and IIRC, they hosted a big DC++ server node in their hostel room.
