Hi @Afrigirl @AfriGuy

Im starting to contemplate my life choices and reccomendations pertainining to ISP :/

#KOP-608-10762 refers.

Multiple whatsapp chats and phone calls - I i have to hear 1 more time reboot the ONT/router im not sure what to do.

Please can you let me know how I go about getting back dynamic IP!?!? It "dissapeared" 4am on saturday morning and now VPN/IPSec tunnels are no longer connecting.

Openserve 100Mbps now suddenly behind NAT/CGNAT?

Good morning.

By the screenshot from clientzone, it looks like you have a static IP assigned as well.
Please share your Afrihost Username for this line. I cannot link the username shared on the ticket to an active account.

With Openserve we assigned a NAT static IP address.

The IP is static, which means the public-facing IP will never change. The natted IP address assigned on the WAN port will change and will be in the 10. range. Each time your router dials a pppoe connection this 10. IP will change but the public IP will be static. We forward all traffic from the 169. static public IP to whatever natted 10. IP you have on the wan port so there will be no traffic or ports blocked.

You won't get the static 169. IP on the wan port.

Hi @Afrigirl - Thanks for the chat - Please do post here for any others experiencing the same (Ill allow you to choose what and how much to share here ;) ) Thanks for the assist! Standing by for update/resolve.

Okay, So i REALLY need support or escalation here @Afrigirl @AfriGuy @AfriNatic .... Issue is gone when on Dynamic IP, but when you put the static IP it breaks - You confirmed changes to natting which you state is not related, but randomly at 4am on Saturday it broke - I was not doing anything and as confirmed, dynamic IP doesnt have this issue....

Now neither inbox nor whatsapp support will revert to dynamic IP

Its ridiculous. Please revert to Dynamic IP and let me know once you have fixed our static IP.

I am really frustrated!

Thank you - Please be so kind to rectify and let me know once the static IP is fixed?

Same thing happened to me a while back on CoolIdeas where I'd randomly be put behind CGNAT. Was told that it happens dynamically and should be very rare.

The second time it happened I bought a static IP.

Hi.

Yes, you may switch back to a static IP.
Thanks, but seeing as it is PPPoE, i believe that is a change you need to do your end.... Also, NOTE, ONLY do this is the issue I had was resolved and you are confident it is. Kindly also monitor here for feedback to rollback if needed as getting this conversation going via Whatsapp support or another channel is impossible.

Hi.

There is still going to be a migration for Openserve link. I would suggest waiting for that before returning to a static IP.

Hi - Any updates?
We are still waiting for feedback from Openserve. They have logged a ticket with their vendor Nokia to see why certain L2TP LAC tunnels drop once we convert our realms to the L2TP option.

As for our new BNG's we have a few tickets open with the vendor to iron out some minor bugs and they are working on a release for us.
We can only proceed with the migration once our ticket with Openserve has been resolved.
