Pull up progression handicapped by small hands

Do some hanging leg raises while you're at it. Good for your core. The more rigid you can keep your core when doing pull-ups, the better form you will have and the easier your body will fall into a natural position.

When I pull up, my legs don't hang dead straight, although this is fine as you're building strength. As i lift off the ground, my whole body rotates slightly, head back legs forward. This is where it feels the most natural to me and gives a good squeeze

It might not be size of hands. It might be some other issue of the width of the bar. I struggle with thin bars.

I have the issue and I have to use the machines rather. Also have problems driving scooters as the accelarator is too thin for me I can't grip it properly

Also, don't forget seated rowing machines to work your back at different angles. And change your pullup grip too. Notice the difference.

Pull ups involve a large collection of muscles contributing to the movement. Hence, when you reach your target reps, you will likely find that you are significantly stronger in other exercises too.

Small hands, big ..... ?
Nope. In men, the penis' length is the same as the distance between line between wrist and hand, and the tip of middle finger.
Hands tell a lot, that's why chicks dig looking at men's hands.

I've watched a petite woman at our gym build up her strength over the past 2 years.

She started by gradually building up her grip-strength on the lateral-pull down and weighted-row machines, combining it with hanging from the pull-up bar until she could hold on for 2-minutes. She added dead-lifts at some point as well.

Today she has arms bigger than many guys of the same hight working out there, doing 3 sets of 10 pull-ups. She's trying to get herself to do 15.
Women, especially housewives, usually have a very strong grip, but they typically struggle with lifting their bodies, due to having weaker upper body strength than men.

The only reason I think you could have issues with small hands is if the bar you are using is particularly thick.
Otherwise you just have a grip strength issue or are not using the correct technique and muscles when doing pullups.

I prefer neutral grip for pullups, less shoulder strain, easier to get the form right and I have broken my hands several times, it is somewhat easier for me in terms of holding and also engaging the correct muscle groups.

You can also do hanging and then simple lat engagement without pulling up to learn how to drive and start the movement with the correct muscles as well as negative pullups.

Although bands help, they often dont assist with correct form, engagement and technique

No way that my dick is 9 inches...

OP and other weaklings (I kid I kid  ) run this routine and come back with results

Day 1 3, 2, 1, 1
Day 2 3, 2, 1, 1
Day 3 3, 2, 2, 1
Day 4 3, 3, 2, 1
Day 5 4, 3, 2, 1
Day 6 Off
Day 7 4, 3, 2, 1, 1
Day 8 4, 3, 2, 2, 1
Day 9 4, 3, 3, 2, 1
Day 10 4, 4, 3, 2, 1
Day 11 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Day 12 Off

I do the same thing with weights attached it does work

It's not the size of the hand, it's the strength in the forearms, lats, delts and rhomboids.
I couldn't do a single pull or chinup until I trained those muscles.

Taller guys have longer levers, that's a big disadvantage in the gym.

How do you measure on hot day?

You forgot the italic font. :sneaky:

I could argue that pushups and running are easier for taller guys due to the physics involved, and we would be here all day. The thing with the human body is that everything is in proportion, which is why aerobic exercise is safe and popular.
Ja, but pole-pt was a horrendous thing when you're well north of 6" and your corporal does not like you, teams you up with midgets ...

/no italic font. Either you know or you're short ...

Pole PT isn't aerobic, but was still very beneficial.
As for getting the shorter end of the stick, that too is beneficial. Train hard, fight easy.

Is there a benefit to buying something like this ? Easy alternative is probably just to have a decent pull-up bar of course but was wondering if anyone here works out on such kind of apparatus. Thanks. This could cost 3-5K of course and pull up bar could be 300 onwards so chalk and cheese in terms of price.
