Punishment for SA Cricketers

Yeah his first class average is good and strike rate not bad but theres guys that have been vying for a place in the SA side for much longer than this oke. Pity people like Paul Harris get given jobs presenting on SABC instead of on the field..

When will you people stop blaming the government. The government can't help that Graeme is a bloody stupid player and captain!!!

Huh?
I don't agree with Graeme as captain, but batsman? I'd certainly have him in my side. And why leave everything on his doorstep anyhow? He can't play for Ntini, Pollock, Boucher, etc. etc.

I agree with you but why always blame the government? Shouldn’t the team be responsible for what happend?
 
When on the field it's the batsman and the bowler who decides what shot to play and what ball to bowl. True there are game plans and certain tactics that are discussed and decided on but when you are holding that bat you are the one deciding which shot you are going to play, not the coach and not the captain or anybody else. I think we need to be mentally strong (which we are not) At this level about 90% of cricket is mentally. If we cannot get our thinking right we have already lost.

We will always have problems with people interfering in decision making and the selection of the team. Being involved with cricket as well I can say if a captain doesn't have the support of all his players it's really tough and in my opinion it's the situation in the SA camp. But do we have somebody that's a real leader ???

My opinion is that we were simply not good enough.
 
I personally think that SA play with to much hate and that is the wrong way to approach sport.

Agreed.

A little bit of perspective is in order here. We made the semi finals of the world cup. Yes, we played appalingly in the semi, and we had all hoped for a win, but remind me of the last time that we made the semis in a major team sport? We are disappointed and there is much that needs to be fixed, but we should also be celebrating what was achieved.
 
Everytime they play OZ they go out there with too much hate

I never said Symes was to take on the spinner's role in SA cricket :P

He is, however, a talented youngster and should have been chosen to play against Pakistan and India when they toured SA before the world cup started. Plus he already has a better domestic record than Bosman at this early stage of his career.

Jacques Kallis was a youngster when he started playing for SA. How many first class games had Paul Adams played before he represented SA?

Sa just made the Semis, out of 6 countries they came 4th, I wonder if the India and Pakis made it what would have happened? O well....

Smithy must Go, and And thet Mickey Arthur DEFINATELY should bugger of!!
