Tried using Amazon alexa with my pi but I guess I prefer Google assistance.

They do for the most part. Questions get answered, distances, traffic information, weather, updating shopping lists is available and music is played through google play music although quite a few songs are returned with "sorry this is not available in your region" even though they work perfectly on my phone

For those of you who have Google home linked to Netflix , is your Netflix account US based or some other country ?

I have a UK netflix account and struggling to link to Google home.
