Purchasing a car from WeBuyCars

I am 3/4 of the way through this process of buying/trading in.
used the "clearance auction" and all gone quite quickly now.

Purchased vehicle is a really good price. putting down 30% deposit, financing the balance.
2yr warranty is required, will go direct to manufacturer after that.

They could do a lot better, they are clearly high volume but little things would make a difference.

will see how the trade in goes, looks like it will end up being 2 transactions and will just get cash from the sale instead of being put in against the purchase

For fun, search for a 2005 BMW and see how many error codes and other issues appear in the Dekra report

With a normal dealer the CPA protects you, if something goes wrong within 6 months you can take the car back, however with webuycars the CPA wont protect you because they are wholesale. so its just like buying from an auction.(voetstoots). Their dekra reports should also be taken with a pinch of salt.

DEKRA reports are about as useful as tits on a nun.
 
Bought a car from them yesterday, supper efficient, but like said they are volumes based. Salesman was brilliant. I used the dekra report only as guideline. Found the previous owners and spoke to them about the vehicle. Did take their extended warranty with. And still came in below book, not that book means anything at the moment.

Separately I did get a price on selling another car to them, I thought it was a low-ball offer, but it is a 11 year old car.

Would I do it again, will depend on the vehicle and my homework I can do on the car.
 
A close friend sold his Polo Vivo to WBC. That thing had been written off after which he bought it as scrap from the insurer and had it back yard repaired. It was held together with Sika and wood screws, and was 50 shades of gold. The WBC Dekra indicated no evidence of previous accident damage or repairs. Go figure.

Some ignorant idiot will look at the Dekra and think they got a bargain of a lifetime. But they deserve it for buying from WeBuyCars. I dont feel sorry for people who buy from there anymore.

Whatever idiot bought that car deserves the trouble they are likely in for. Even someone not clued up on cars could see that there are major issues.
