Hiya!

I desperately need a Rapidshare Account & don't have PayPal.

Can someone tell me how to go about obtaining one please?

I noticed you can use a "Reseller" but I'm not 100% sure if my Credit Card details will be safe with them.

Rapidshare recommends these guys as my best bet.

Can you guys please advice me on what to do?

My friend has purchased a few rapidshare and megaupload accounts using his credit card and didnt have a problem... so they should be safe

WHERE did he purchase them from though? Did he use the company I mentioned in my 1st post? :)

Thanks!

You can go directly to Rapidshare.com and purchase it there. I've had my account fo a few years now.

Completely safe :)

Oh ok, my problem is I dont know which option to use. It says Pay Via PayPal, Reseller, Wire Transfer or PayByCall?

I think Reseller would be my best option, but the thing is WHICH one do I choose?

Sorry for all the questions & confusion! :(

Best Is to register for a paypal account.
Once this is complete rapidshare gives you the option of paying with a paypal account.
I have used this a fair bit.
There are many sites people you can pay with the paypal account.
The only downside is that you can not cash in any of the money in the paypal account.

I'm on the site @ the mo. https://www.paypal.com/za, then choose 'sign up' and then select 'Personal' and fill in form.

Try it and let me know :)

Actually, you can choose to pay via pay pal, and pay by credit card (Without having a paypal account of course).

Wow thanks for the replies guys! :D

I just have a few questions...

Do I need to "top up" and put money into my PayPal account using my Credit Card?

If I use Paypal, I cannot receive any money in my PayPal account, right?

1. PayPal debits your card automatically for the full amount owing. Keep a 0 balance in your PayPal account as PayPal is not a registered bank and does not follow any banking regulations eg the type of people who can access your account or insurance of your account against PayPal going broke. In the US there is FDIC insurance but it's for US citizens but PayPal still is not registered as a financial institution and policed as a real bank, however PayPals in the EU had to follow EU Banking regulations to function in those territories.

Our PayPal is in Singapore but note the disclaimer:
PayPal Pte. Ltd., the Holder of the PayPal™ stored value facility, does not require the approval of the Monetary Authority of Singapore

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/ua-outside&country.x=AL&locale.x=en_US

So documents faxed to PayPal, funds kept in PayPal accounts and even bank accounts linked to PayPal are not as safe and I would not link a bank account to PayPal (a US or non-EU account that is).

2. No you can't receive unless you have an address in one of those countries which allow it, eg EU, US, Canada, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia and a few others.
