Putin in the helm again!

Ghoti explain why SA is better than russia?

What makes russia so bad, you have not told us.
What a liar.

Have you not seen the lack of service delivery and high levels of corruption (way higher than ours.). No of course not. It would require reading and understanding and issue. An impossible task for you.

Apart from a corrupt government and cold weather what are the issues?

OMG... "Apart from the corrupt government?" Really? Its one of the most serious issues a society faces... Corruption leads to most of the other bad things in a country...

Also, regarding what I said about the cold, booze and spouse abuse earlier was a direct answer to the question, "WHAT WAS MY FAMILIES PERCEPTION", and NOT "Why is Russia a ****ty place to live". Please keep things and replies in context. I know its hard through all the drugs, but you can do it.

Willy honestly if you have nothing of interest to say perhaps you should keep the posting to a minimum :D. You just look like a troll but i don't mind being stalked :p. As long as you know where to find my g-spot come at me bro.
You constantly lie then have the audacity to call others trolls? I honestly dont think there is a thread (in CA) in the last couple of months where you have not lied and misrepresented other people. Add hypocrisy to things you need to sit down and reflect on.

You have no good left in your words.

LOL so we have no service delivery and high levels of corruption, what makes the russian corruption so much worse? That is like saying someone who murders 10 people is not as bad as someone murdering 20. How much worse can the corruption be in russia? Putin at least makes his own money where as our president spends the people's money. Let's not talk about the gravy train riders of which there are hundreds so how can russia be worse bud? Our government is about the most corrupt government in the world and i am sure russia is also bad but you cannot claim it's worse you silly thing. We also have much higher crime than russia and majority of population live on the bread line.

Your logic is beyond belief sometimes.

So russia and SA have the same issues as you pointed out. Actually SA is more corrupt and has more crime than russia, then we look at daily goods and the high cost of living SA and russia cannot compare there either. So again i will ask you to point the where russia is worse than SA. Some facts or figures would be nice. If you look at facts SA is worse off than russia but you sit in your corner and cry for mother russia LOL. You are not even russian but you cry for them while SA is worse.

I cannot go on some random internet dude telling me the corruption is worse because his friend told him.

I have you a link to a list showing our levels of corruption and theirs. Not my fault you lack the ability to notice the difference. Using your mud hut logic ... Norway also has corruption ergo it must be like Russia. People migrate from Norway as well. Continuing your mud hut logic it must be exactly the same as Russia.

Jeez... your arguments get dumber and dumber.

Ghoti explain why SA is better than russia?

What makes russia so bad, you have not told us. Apart from a corrupt government and cold weather what are the issues? Although russia has been hot as well i wonder if the government is running some experiments to help with the cold so people like you won't moan about the cold.

Do you tell me all the vitriol you suck out of your thumb and mind are interesting, it's irritating to say the least. BF3 must be a sheet game as you lately spend to much time talking cr@p here on MyBB. You are damaging your reputation you build up over the years mate, think about it.

Damaging my rep LOL, you think i care what people like ghoti and yourself think of me bud? This is a forum, it's not a popularity contest :D.

O ghoti so you have no facts to back up your more corrupt claim, i thought as much. Ghoti why is russia worse if more people are killed in SA daily. Russia is not a great country from what i have read but neither is SA and if i didn't live here my whole view on SA would be totally different but i do live in one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, i do live in a country with the highest crime rate yet i love this country. So yea go cry in your corner for russia and ignore the place you live because i know your parents or something are russian and that is why you cry in your corner for the russians.

It is interesting ghoti that you seem clueless about russia, you just seem biased and don't rely on facts to back anything up. Russia is flourishing right now, read that article. Although you will call it BS because your friend told you otherwise. This friend must be a super magical human able to tell you the truth while the internet is just full of lies. All hail ghoti's super powerful friend of knowledge.

Putin became Russian president 12 years ago, the year after the country defaulted on $40 billion of domestic debt. Inflation peaked at 127 percent in July 1999 and ended the year at 37 percent as Putin took over from Boris Yeltsin on New Year’s Eve. In January, the inflation rate was at 4.2 percent, the slowest pace on record.

“Everyone’s attitude is, oh, wow, economic stability, who would have thought?” Stanislav Voskresensky, a deputy economy minister, said in an interview. “Take a look at the streets of Athens and you’ll remember immediately what it means to have economic stability.”

Some facts ghoti about putin, perhaps go read what he has done for russia

Lying again. I showed evidence. Again, its not my fault if you lack the ability to comprehend the evidence.

Ghoti why is russia worse if more people are killed in SA daily.
I dont know if I should explain this to you. Not sure you have the capacity to understand, but let me try for the sake of other people reading this. South Africa has a more violent society because we have the highest levels of social inequality created by apartheid. The greater the gap between the rich and the poor the most violent and unstable a society is. Russia came outta communism. Which was not like Apartheid. Most of the people there are equally poor so it has a lower crime rate. Saying that, we dont have terrorist groups fighting our government and attacking theatres and blowing up apartment blocks.

Using your mud hut logic neither is Norway. However, what you think is irrelevant as you dont.

Nope, thats just you lying about me as you normally do. Nothing new. Dude, Im ganna put you on my ignore list. Only the siff liars make my ignore list. Not even RZA or Dodo made my ignore list, but you are way worse than them. Cheers dude. There is nothing of value you can offer anyone and I am wasting my time debating such dimwitted arguments. Your inability to be honest is also indicative of a pretty evil slant in you, and combine the evil with the dimwitted arguments and I see no point in even knowing you exist. Ill most likely never be replying to you again. When you seek help for your problems and sober up a bit, perhaps things will change but right now I am honestly wasting my time debating the dumbest arguments on mybroadband as you lack the capacity to understand and I look silly responding to such lame arguments.

Cheers, and I hope you get better soon. Stop the drugs!

LOL ghoti when people don't agree you act like a child. For people reading this perhaps this link will show them how ignorant and silly you are bud.

Sad that people like yourself post such uneducated rubbish, with so much information available i have no idea how you can listen to your magical friend. Putin has been good for russia.

@Killa, you can argue all you want regarding how good Putin is, but being a Russian who left there, and still having family living there, I can tell you that it is one scary place to live.

As an example of how Russia is worse than South Africa (don't know why we are comparing, but any case), the prosecution of Mikhail Khodorkovsky is a prime example. The only wrong-doing on Mikhail Khodorkovsky's part was opposing the rule of Putin. For this he will now be incarcerated in a prison for what is most probably the rest of his life.

In terms of your previous economic argument, the only reason that Russia is where it is right now is purely due to the fact that the state controls a massive amount of natural resources (GazProm is state owned to a large degree), and this, coupled with the unabated increases in oil and gas prices over the course of Putin's rule, has led to economic stability. Had the prices of oil and gas not shot up at the same time as Putin stepped in to power, Russia would still be in trouble financially.

The questions remain: Have people's lives improved over the course of Putin's rule (1999 - 2012), and in which dimensions?

Economically, yes, people's lives have improved, but not to the extent reported. The wealth of the population, when accounting for inflation has remained largely the same. General price levels in the big cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg) have increased at a rate nearly equal to that of GDP growth.

Politically, the situation has gotten worse. Dozens of my relatives and friends vehemently oppose Putin, and they know dozens of people who feel the same way, but irrespective of what anybody says or does, there is no way to unseat a dictator such as Putin. This is all partly to blame on the Russian people themselves of course. The uneducated masses have always been easy to control with promises of grandeur, power and nationalistic pride. All the masses (most of whom are alcoholics), are infatuated by the idea of Russia being a superpower. All Russian dictators know this, and use it to their advantage...

Privet. Kak dyla? :D

I totally support this post. Another thing you can bring up is the amount of journalists investigating Russian government corruption.. that have being killed in mysterious circumstances. Even with South Africa's higher crime rate... we dont lose journalists like Russia does. Another thing to consider where SA rocks and Russia needs to catch up on is our judiciary. We by and large and a free and fair judiciary mostly independent of government executive and admin branches. From what I have seen from court rulings in Russia is your judiciary is sold out :(

I really hope you guys get control of your government. The Russian people have so much to offer culturally and intellectually. I dream of the day you guys have a real democracy and end up as part of, and like the rest of the EU. You guys and girls have the capacity to do it. Its not a matter of if... its a matter of when.

Your arguments with killadoob will fall on deaf ears. He is so far up Putins ass he is regurgitating the same ****. The fact that you are Russian will mean nothing to him. He apparently knows Russia better than Russians :D

Spasibo for a great post :D

What is the middle class like in russia do they live fairly well? Another thing i have wondered, is majority of russia living in poverty like SA?

Tell me stuff i read like this:

Under the presidency of Vladimir Putin Russia's economy saw the nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) double, climbing from 22nd to 11th largest in the world. The economy made real gains of an average 7% per year ( 1999: 6.5%, 2000: 10%, 2001: 5.7%, 2002: 4.9%, 2003: 7.3%, 2004: 7.2%, 2005: 6.4%, 2006: 8,2%, 2007: 8.5%, 2008: 5.2% ), making it the 6th largest economy in the world in GDP(PPP). In 2007, Russia's GDP exceeded that of 1990, meaning it has overcome the devastating consequences of the recession in the 1990s.[25] On a per capita basis, Russian GDP was US$14,919 per individual in 2009, making Russians 38th richest on both a purchasing power and nominal basis.

Why does that make putin a dictator? They have elections which are always called fixed and so on which i am sure it could be but you say the masses support putin so how can it be fixed if the masses are voting him into power and how can he be a dictator if he is democratically elected by the people?

Perhaps i am a bit naive to believe what i read on wiki which does not paint the same picture as ghoti but russia doesn't seem to be doing too badly but i would like you to answer why a democratically elected president is a dictator.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Russia is all of that a lie?

You only have to look at the Putin <> Medvedev swops to know know it's all a rigged farce, but guys like Killa no F'all about demoncracy so we have to forgive his pubertal style ignorance. His blind hatred for the USA/Israel alliance have clouded his perception of reality completely.

The russian people are voting him into power as mic y says, that is democratic. We are not talking about israel or the US though. so perhaps keep on topic.

Yeah in Zim there is also a form of demoncracy, Mugabe get his votes every-time a fair election is held, you also claimed the same about Syria so your skewed version of what a fair elections represents is very clear.

It is very sad that someone's hatred for someone could blind them to helping others.

Yes, he is elected, though I doubt that Putin does in fact have a true majority as represented by the state. The fact that he is elected does not make his actions good for Russians as a whole, just as the ANC being elected doesnt make the ANC's actions the best for South Africans.

Additionally, the state controls nearly all the media, and is totalitarian in that control. One of my friends runs a hosting business there, and has been required to take down customer's site due to the requests of thugs in the governments pockets. In cases where these requests were not fulfilled, the servers were DDoS'ed into oblivion. Is this progress in a democracy? Is it ok that any serious oppositions is jailed, tortured, or killed?

The only reason that some Russians (the people mostly in the eastern parts) keep voting for Putin, is due to his feeding their nationalism and unsubstantiated pride.

While I do not deny the economic stats, the gini coefficient in Russia is just as bad as here, if not worse. There is a insanely wealthy upper class (Which also tends to be closely connected to the political figures in power, not unlike SA), and a nearly non existent middle class. The averages seem to be improving, but this only happens through the rich getting even richer.
