The so called "elections" in Syria excludes by law all religious and various other party's or groups that make it not possible for most groups to stand as opposition. How can that be "fair". Wow but there are 7000 candidates going for the 250 seats, the opposition is boycotting the voting so no matter what happens it will be a farce. The opposition are refusing to vote, don't you think it is a little stupid to do that?
Oddly enough 710 candidates are female. have you read up on the voting because you seem confused as to what they are voting for.

If they choose to boycott the vote then they cannot call it a farce. The rebels refuse to stick to the cease fire, if they stopped attacking the government then the world could see the government was attacking and not them but they keep hitting the government forces making them look more and more like they are not interested in helping the people of syria. Rather stop fighting and let the world see that they have put down their arms but the syrian regime has not, instead both parties just continue fighting and still nobody really knows what to think. They have been caught a few times faking video's which to me hurt their credibility beyond repair.
Firstly, no one has claimed Russia is a war zone. (Sure parts of it might have civil wars going on, but the Russian war machine is very affective in decimating those who oppose)

As for my soccer player thing i was basically saying that if your soccer league is big, has money and is well supported around most of the country it means people are not as poor as you are making out.
Russia is far from backwards
Look at SA as a prime example, most of the people who support soccer are poor and you can see that because the stadiums are largely empty for majority of the games. Some people say it's because of the poor football but the people do not have money to get tickets and travel to the games. So maybe that will clear up a few thing regarding full soccer stadiums. Far cry from the poor alcoholics you paint all russians to be.
Russia is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Russia is on track to be a super power again yet you don't seem to think so because your mate told you it's all lies. Amazingly russia is not broke either like the US and many other european countries another fact you happily leave out but then again it's cold there, damn the government for running a cold country.

My best friend at school was Russian, I used to spend long weekends at his house in another town with his whole Russian family and their visiting friends. So Russians Ive met and spoken to on some type of personal level? Less than 20. Russians I speak to online. Over 100. Still beats your fat 0
